hey i smashed my computer and just got a new one. i think octave-forge will need to be installed as well if you're installing from source. i'll add these packages and see what happens.

no i've tried reading the docs on how to install things on puppy but i was totaly lost, sorry. if you figure out how to install stuff that arent already .pups i'd apreciate it if you would let me know!! :)

when i write the line:

cp -a /mnt/devx/* /
i get the error:

Code: Select all

cp: cannot create regular file `/usr/bin/strings': Text file busy
but the hard drive still runs for a while, like the operation isn't over. should i worry about this?

Taken from the Savage video driver man page

Option "UseBIOS" "boolean"
Enable or disable use of the video BIOS to change modes....

Note: Use of the BIOS is required for dualhead operation. Default: on (use the BIOS).

I just tried this but it didnt seem to work. i also tried this version with two different copies of the device section and named the devices card0 and card1 but no luck. maybe it would help if lspci in linux was a bit more specific? #Special base config file used in Puppy Linux. # ******************...

yeah ever since i messed with xorg, my window manager has been different and not as cool. BUT KEEP PLAYING!!!!

I really do wish someone could come up with a simpler solution to video for the linux platform. but i know that might not be very simple.

What happened to my window manager?

When i started i had this madd cool looking window manager that looked like KDE on steroids. i tried to tweak xorg.conf a bit and failed, and now my window manager looks like win98 :(

i've gotten the file but i don't know how to install it. i'm sure it's gonna have a few dependancies.
