You found it!
Do you see a file called .wh.bashrc (or very similar, starting with .wh* + the name of bashrc) in pup_rw? If yes, that file is blocking it. If no, what happens if you rebuild PS1 by making a new .bashrc file? That's it exactly '.wh..bashrc'. I just had to delete it and everything was happy again. T...

/root/.bashrc disappears on reboot
So, I copied /initrd/pup_ro2/root/.bashrc to /root and everything is great.
Then I reboot and the file isn't there anymore. I don't seem to have any issues with other files not being persistent.
Any ideas?

Re: Hate Eugenic-Billy
But i don't like satanic freemason Eugenic-Billy who wants to poison all children with mercury vaccines. Bill Gates Talks About Vaccines to Reduce World Population http://www.marketoracle.co.uk/Article17644.html ... FYI, Bill Gates intention is to improve the likelihood of children surviving to bec...

Mount SMB windows share in /tmp and can't shutdown properly.
I found an odd bug the other day. If I mount a SMB windows share in /tmp (for example /tmp/movies), then do a shutdown, it hangs on the 'saving SFS file...' line. I can Ctrl-C out of the script, so it's not really hung, just doing something very time consuming. I left my PC in that state for 24 hour...

bash shell not using /etc/profile any more [/solved]
UPDATE: I just found my mistake. I accidently removed the /root/bashrc file. :( Hi, I'm not sure what I did, but my bash shell doesn't appear to use /etc/profile anymore. I'm sure it's something stupid that I did, but I can't figure it out. :( When I click on the 'console' icon, I get a bash prompt ...

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work. Any other ideas? One other piece of information is that I do see the' sdc1' icon in the lower left corner after rebooting, but when I click on it it disappears. So it was seen at some point in the booting process. Also: I tried booting with PFIX=RAM and...

Same issue: USB flash drive not detected at startup.
Hi, I'm having the same problem, my USB flash drive is not detected at startup, but if I unplug it and replug it in, it then works. I tried Startmount and it didn't see my flash drive until I un-plugged and re-plugged it in. This machine is a laptop running Lupu (5.2). It has two USB ports on the ri...

Minor issues with Puppy 5.2 (modprobe, wireless)
Hello, I successfully (and easily) installed Puppy 5.2 on a bootable USB Flash drive and it worked great. Thank you for an easy start. Here are some of the issues I ran into (minor and otherwise). 1. When I first logged in, I had to connect to my wireless network and type in the WEP password. On the...
