also pakt has a "wakepup" floppy bootdisk which can boot puppy from cd, usb or other options. see :- http://www.murga.org/%7Epuppy/viewtopic.php?t=1346&highlight=boot2pup but with 40 Mbytes ram you could be at puppy's bottom margin of operation. you would have to install to hard disk &...

that's what i thought i had come across somewhere on forum, that it was a shell script.

very bizarre! my mozstart definitely wasn't a shell script as wouldn't open with beaver & was 2Mbyte+. anyways it's in dustbin now.

(can this be put in the solved file now?).

what does mozstart do exactly?

in course of upgrading pup from 1.06 to 1.07, and trying to retain stuff i had in /usr/local/bin, i managed to stop mozilla being able to run. following some threads on the forum i pointed defaultbrowser to /usr/lib/mozilla/mozilla-bin & this worked without probs. seeing no need for mozstart, an...

if you search forum people have successfully got puppy working on XP partitions, then would be just a matter of installing to your usb-attached Hdisk. or, possibly, a linux boot floopy on your XP machine, could format attached Hdisk with ext2 file system, then if you installed grub in it's MBR, you ...

be aware this is a compressed executable of the static binary & takes few secs to load. otherwise the static binary is available here:-

just had a look at the escape compressed executable mentioned above & saw that after running it's not saving any levels you've completed as, unlike gsoko which saves your levels in /root/.gsokorc file, escape saves in it's own directory, which in this case is being extracted to /tmp, then delete...

following rarsa's post about using "strip -s", followed by upx, to reduce the size of a binary following make, i applied same to xmahjongg. (see http://www.murga.org/%7Epuppy/viewtopic.php?t=3242&highlight=strip) this gave a fourfold reduction in size so i've reposted the xmahjongg.tar...

i've done same thing for gsoko & it appears to work ok.

again i've added the --nox11 option to makeself.sh, so doesn't create console window.

you're very quick mark. i'd never even noticed the "add attachment" button before! here it is. i've bzipped it as when i sent to somebody unzipped it lost executable permissions. hopefully it still works! didn't realise that makeself.sh has a "--nox11" option so that console wind...

i've compiled xmahjongg but, instead of making as a dotpup, i've used makeself.sh script to make it as a self-extracting bzipped executable.

i've upx'ed it & kept only the gnome tileset, getting it down to 412kbytes.

it runs fine on my puter. my only question is where would i upload it to?
