I have given up trying to compile the driver myself I tried just don't know what i am doing.
so far i did manage to install the pre-compiled
nvidia-glx-285.05.09-2.sfs
and it is working on the frugal install so thanks to every one who tried to help me and shinobar for compiling the driver

i think i am going to compile the newest version. after much hunting i found http://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/puppy-5.2.8/ i think it has the the devx and kernel source sfs files so i am downloading what i am guessing it the the devx sfs files lupu_devx_528-3.sfs will report back with results
