It was a bit late in coming but I compiled a .pet for GNUplot today. MU has, once again, kindly agreed to host it. It's available along with Octave at:

Where I can get the official Windows XP icon set?

I want to add the official windows XP icons to my IceWM theme. I have a copy of Windows XP but the 'shell.dll' containing the icons doesn't seem to allow me to extract the icons in anything other than 16x16. Does anyone know where I can get a 48x48 set of official Windows XP icons? Or, can anyone te...

It's the one I compiled. MU kindly agreed to host it and I uploaded it a couple of days ago. It's still got the same errors (missing .so files) and it's just Octave, ie. no gnuplot. There was a cock-up on my part when uploading gnuplot such that I need to compile it from source again and then upload...

I like the new mouse pointer icons as well.
It's funny how even the smallest things can have a big impact on the visual appeal of a GUI.

I think it's called a Gensplash. I've done it once on an ex-Gentoo install. There's a Gentoo HOWTO in the Gentoo Wiki. I also believe Ubuntu uses a slightly different technology called Usplash.

I'm not sure how you'd "transfer" the technology across to Puppy.

I hope the above helps.

I do live near Battersea Bridge (or Battersby Bridge as my mother-in-law calls it, LOL! She's a Corrie fan) but I don't want to put you out. If you can provide a link to a host I can simply download it and burn it myself.

I take it you're in London as well, then?

EDIT:
Thanks PKAG!

JD, could you post your .pet please? I installed 0.4.2 and got it to bring up the taskbar and start menu but there was no background no matter what I tried to do.

XPDE is an admirable project but it's pretty lame in the execution from what I could see on the XPDE forums.

Yes. I have experienced the same thing twice only (een ezel stoot...) The first time it was AFTER I saved my pup-save.sfs file using the 'save' icon on the desktop. Then, the next time, it was when I booted using the pfix=ram. Either way, this was not a problem for me, but I agree there is a bug but...

I tried to download but get "Forbidden [403]" problem

I just tried (1 min ago) to download from the link in your very first post on this thread. I even followed the links in your sig. Any which way but lose - still get a Forbidden [403] error. Perhaps you're working on the Beta and you've taken it offline?? 403 Forbidden You are not allowed to access t...

I love EZpup. I wish it was the default for Puppy.
EZpup2 looks great. I'm looking forward to it. Great work. 8)

Thanks. That seems to have fixed it. I had to re-install EZpup-1.06.2007.pet afterwards though.

Making a DotPet: I need some ./configure options help

I'm just starting to compile some packages for Puppy 2.16 but I realise I may not be compiling them with the correct ./configure options. I've read some of the topics on this forum but a lot of them are 2006 or earlier so I'm not sure if they're current. At the moment I'm compiling with: ./configure...

OK. octave-2.9.12-i486.pet gnuplot-4.2.0-i486.pet I haven't tried them yet so let me know if there are any bugs with the install. I'm still new at this compiling thing so I'm not even sure if the ./configure options I invoked are 'Puppy-compliant'. I'm going to look into this on the weekend. I'd lik...

Hi. I'm thinking of installing Octave on Puppy 2.16. I haven't attempted to compile it yet but was wondering if you managed to compile it. If so, did you have any problems?

I've created a .PET package for LookXP and if someone can tell me how to post it to this thread, I'll gladly oblige. http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/3428/screenie1hj7.th.png I've compiled the 0.1 version and not the 0.2-1 version on the LookXP download site as the latter doesn't show the 'windows...

ra0 (rt61) alive but I can't ping any addresses

I want to use my wireless card to access the internet instead of my ethernet card. I can connect to the internet through eth0 without any problems. However, when I try my network interface (ra0) the Network Wizard reports everything is okay except DHCP won't work so I have to configure a static IP m...
