I can't honestly understand why this topic has changed name to alphaOS [closed].
Both http://sourceforge.net/projects/alphaos/ and http://alphaos.tuxfamily.org are UP and running.
Was it simargl who changed the subject? Was it someone from Murga?
I stand clueless...

I'm trying alphaOS 7.0 on my wife's netbook. Can't make wifi module to load. modprobe brcmsmac fails to load the module. Did you include it when you compiled the kernel? It says here that brcm80211 is included in the kernel. Also, the keyboard has numlock enabled by default which is a bummer. You th...

Today I finally installed alphaOS 2.0. Unfortunately I couldn't configure a save file. I usually set up a save file on the same partition that I have my puppies frugally installed. Unfortunately alphaOS did not mount RW the partition where it is installed. As a consequence I could not set up my save...

I dont see the problem with AlphaOS and simargls works etc... Neither do I. As long as it is made clear that despite using *some* of the Puppy Linux boot stuff, AlphaOS is NOT a proper puppy linux, and that it is a fork of puppy linux cos it is built using a different method, has a different setup ...

Okay, so be it: it's a fork. Now what? Does this mean that AlphaOS has to leave Murga? I honestly don't think that's fair. Besides I don't think simargl did anything wrong. Scooby might have sounded a bit harsh on his comment but I am quite sure that he didn't mean any harm. IMO with his words he wa...

I've read sickgut's latest posts. First of all, I have to say that I believe life will go on as usual after 12/2012. Second, I respect whoever thinks differently. Third, I've been a bit away from Puppy and Pussy (the OS!!) but I've learnt something cool about debian frugal in the last couple of days...

Now that's odd. Just tried to write something in my /live/image with no success. :? I don't know if yesterday I was so sleepy that I screwed up and wrote in the wrong mounting point. OR, something is up today that is preventing me from writing to that mouting point. All in all, I guess I screwed up ...

Suprising things is that Ubuntu obviously has changed how them set up things then because there it works? Well, buntoo has an history of doing things the way they want without letting anyone else on it, don't they? A budd of mine is a developer and sometimes he does minor fixes in their code. Not l...

sickgut: This thread has grow big! Can't read it all. Yesterday I think I caught you mentioning something about an issue when trying to mount the partition where Pussy boots from. I'm not sure if you've noticed it already but /live/image is mounted RW and it is the partition where you boot from with...

I don't think many people will use pussy linux for main and only one distro on their computer at the beginning. I'm only one, but I will use Pussy as my sole distro on an old laptop that I have. It's a P3 Celeron with 256MB and 30GB HDD. The new laptop and the netbook will always keep multi-boot wi...
