I've seen how impressive a killing machine an ordinary 10 lb house cat can be when it's so inclined, just the thought of a cat with a bad attitude that weighs 100 or more lbs scares the living bejesus out of me.

Re: berryboot

I know this is a little off topic but check it out. http://www.berryterminal.com/doku.php/berryboot He is basically using this to boot into several OS's using a single SDHC card. You can see that sort of thing happening in this video: http://youtu.be/yseT4USH8SY , it's interesting to note that the ...

I've been closely following the great work being done with the Raspberry Pi, what does all this this mean for the future non-pi arm puppies? Am I going to be able to run a Puppy on my Beagleboard xM soon?

Puppy 5 series may just not work on this computer because of age of hardware. The Linux kernel stopped supporting older hardware after around Puppy 4.3.1 It is hit or miss after that with older hardware and newer versions of Puppy. Whatever the problem is with xorg, it doesn't seem to be related to...

Maybe I should also say why I want to upgrade to a version 5 Puppy, it's because I've been unable to get my USB network adapter to work with the Version 4.3.1 I'm currently running and I know from experience with a different computer, that it works with Lucid 5.2.5. so solving my xorg problem would ...

I apologize for breaching forum protocols. My only defense is I'm new around here and since the problem I'm having seem so similar to the original post, it seemed appropriate to ask my question here. I'll make a note of this for future reference and go off to my split thread.

Thanks, I'm a little short on time right now but I will try what you suggest later tonight when I've got more time. I'm currently running Puppy 4.3.1 kernel 2.6.30.5, it works well but no version of Puppy 5 that I've tried so far works including Puppy 5.2.5. Retro which uses the same 2.6.30.5 kernel...

Xorg Problems Lucid 5.2.5

I'm having the same issues with Lucid 5.2.5 as RayzorX, in fact, I've tried 4 or 5 versions of Puppy 5, all with the same result. I've tried recommended work around without success, are there any other options? Or, am I stuck running a version 4 Puppy? For help with your problem edit your first post...

I'm trying to get a Keebox W150nu USB wifi adapter to work. You can read about my problems with that in THIS THREAD . Quick summary, the older laptop boots up successful Puppy 4.3.1 with kernel 2.6.30.5 but the wifi adapter drivers recommended for that set up don't seem to work. I tried both Puppy 4...

Yes and yes. It boots up to the command line okay (i.e. pfix=nox) but fails when I run xwin and that's been the case with every version 5 Puppy I've tried. From what I've been able to gather it seems there's something about the video hardware of some older machines that's incompatible with any of th...

It works okay one of two laptops, but not the other. FWIW, I like that puppy, it loads up off the CD quite a bit quicker than the Lucid 5.2.5. My older laptop is really starting to frustrate me, I just can't get Puppy 4.3.1 to do what I want it to, I know that a version 5 Puppy would, at least it do...
