I would say Yes
although of the derivatives I would vote for D-pup to be the next official.

For the record I didn't fall in love with another distro my kids did, the AAO's are theirs. The main thing I could not solve was reliable wireless connectivity. I may work on another remaster based on the ubuntu or debian puppy's but I am building a house now and have very little play time. Still ru...

I will probably not be incredibly helpful as I took no notes (very bad of me). You are correct I had to make a few changes. First of I used mu or wows pup as base it had the .27 kernel this supported the hardware better. If you reed over the aspire on threads you should find most of the fixes. If wi...

I have installed the transmission 1.73 bit torrent client and when I run it I have no bar @ the top to allow me to move/minimize/maximize it. I can drag the corners and resize it but thats it.

I still use puppy as my main distro although on both the kids laptops I am using linux4one now. I run the lite version on one and the regular on the other. The main reason for the switch was problems connecting to encrypted wireless (wpa) I could usually get it to work but it proved to be a constant...

In puppy you are always root, just ignore the warning. Your samsung scanner will likely still not run as puppy does not (or did not anyway) include the drivers. I did get my multifunction running in the 3 version of puppy by installing the samsung drivers but have not tried in the latest version. Cr...
