So could you please run this in terminal (urxvt, ROXterm) to see if there's more libraries not found: ldd /usr/bin/minetest | grep "not found" If there's many of them missing, I'll consider doing a build using an older Puppy version. Btw, with Precise Puppy this would work without library ...

I am not 100% sure about Wary, but at least in Lucid puppy you can go to Menu > Setup > Remove builtin packages.
