More does list 1360x768 which does not seem to work correctly. However that resolution does work on ubuntu 10.10. <sigh> :D I think it is the HDMI cauing a problem. Everything would work great if this screen was not cracked. Guess I should fix that first. lol

How to get 1366x768 Resolution on Phillips 32" (HDMI)?

Lucid Pup 5.2.8 (005) Intel HD Graphics Do not see 1366x768 as an option in xorg wizard using xorg high driver. Was wondering if I need to set it manually. Using a Core i3 laptop with a cracked screen and outputting via HDMI. 1280x768 @ 60Hz works well enough but I am trying to use the native resolu...

Darn Ext2 filesystem!

I was using a non-journaling filesystem (EXT2). It was causing all my problems. I switched to EXT3 using GParted did a fresh install with GRUB and everything was fine. Thanks for your help. I opened a parallel topic in the Users section and it was solved quickly there. Thanks for your effort anyways...

Hmmm.

:o It looks like the Ext2 filesystem WAS the problem. Moved to Ext3 and have not had one problem yet. Ext2 was causing other problems for me with the simple network tool and I was getting errors on boot too. Finally my kids computer works. Happy Holidays and thank-you!

Update

I forgot to mention but shortly after every install I keep getting this error: EXT-fs (sda1): error: ext2_lookup : deleted inode referenced: 1406281. Before the error showed up the wireless was working on the hard drive installation of Puppy. I am trying with MacPup 5.2.8 and getting the same error....

Sigh.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am writing this from the Live CD so I know how to use Dougal's Network tool. The problem is when not using the Live CD but running off the hard drive. The tool connects me (auto DHCP) to my network like I said in the OP but I have no internet connectivity. It shows the ...

No internet with connection to wireless network (SOLVED)

Using the connection tool (not simple) in Puppy 5.2.8 (Lucid) my Linksys WUSB54GS ver 2.1 (Broadcomm) is detected automatically. To make a long story short, I am connected with WPA/TKIP and auto DHCP to my router but with no internet connection apparently. I have tried pinging thru the command line ...
