Re: fast CD boot
I am thinking fast CD boot for Werewolf. Can we take out the q.sys from initrd.q? All werewolf's files (initrd.q, vmlinuz and q,sys) put into the "werewolf64" folder. Then no need to change anythings, the CD should boot as the USB boot. After wasted three CD, I succeeded to fast boot from...

fast CD boot
I am thinking fast CD boot for Werewolf. Can we take out the q.sys from initrd.q? The new init script used the blkid to find the boot device. The blkid can not list the CD UUID, but it can list the CD label as below: # blkid /dev/sdc2: LABEL="test" UUID="5a5c3cc1-6479-4f64-b025-c6874b...

Re: frugal install
Just test your new init script, no need to wait for USB ready and boot fast. One problem, you haven't update the /BOOT_SPECS file. So, it keep the BOOT_DEV=UUID=xxxx-xxxx, it break the "Save Icon"(save script). If you move below code before you save the /BOOT_SPECS file, then you no need t...

frugal install.
Compare to old puppy, I think the Werewolf's frugal install is better. 1. The size of old "save file"(xxxxsave.3fs) is fix(eg:128MB), it waste many room of the USB disk. The Werewolf's "save file"(s.sfs) is a compressed file system, if you have 10MB data, you only need about 6MB ...

I upgraded from 6.01 to 6.1 with the service_pack-6.0.1_TO_6.1-quirky6.pet.
The Upgrade manager and Snapshot manager inside the Multimedia menu. ??
I tested the Snapshot manager, it made a Snapshot(in /audit/snapshots/). It size was 6MB, very nice. I haven't test the restore function yet. Thank Barry.

Install Quirky6.0 on a 1GB(or more) size USB disk
Install Quirky6.0 on a 1GB(or more) size USB disk The actual size of Quirky6.0 is below 1GB, so we could install it to a 1GB(2GB,4GB or 16GB) USB flash disk. Assume you downloaded the Quirky6.0 on /mnt/sdb1/tmp, your USB disk mounted on /mnt/sdc1 and /mnt/sdc2, like my last post. 1. Decompress Quir...
