Nice! This is a very lovely dock. For some reason, it still doesn't want to show the icon for Roxfiler, probably something I messed up over here. error.log says "Something wrong when iterating over desktop file directory". Starting from terminal gives: (ocd-Dock:4487): Wnck-WARNING **: Unh...

Hey ProgRob. Just to follow up, I think I might have figured out what was going on with those icons. Or at least solved the problem. First I noticed there was a line in my pin file for a program that I don't have anymore, that might have caused some kind of error. And I noticed that both Rox and Gea...

Any option for overwriting installed packages? Every time I do this, I get the "package is already installed" message.

I don't care if it's already installed, I want it overwritten.

Hi again, I must have messed something up installing or removing packages, because your dock isn't working as awesome as it was before. For some reason, I seem to "lose" icons for the file manager and geany after I open the programs. The icons get replaced by little photos with x's on them...

Thanks, ProgRob!

Only problem I can see is that now when exposedock = max, it autohides all the time, even when not covered by a window.

@Ghost Dog - no way at present. I guess you have the dock set to always be above other windows and then a menu is being shown which it is covering - am I right? What I'll do is have a look at the code to see if there is a way to make it take such windows into account when deciding whether to dodge....

Hi,

As a test, I downloaded Quirky Unicorn and burned it to a cd. It booted on both computers, no problem.

I checked the md5sum on the file (ub_fx_en_01.img) and it matches.

So, can anyone verify that this package actually works with efi boot?

Cheers

Thanks for this.

I followed your instructions and dd'ed the image to a usb stick. However, neither the included Vivid or Unicorn finished loading, they both froze at "loading modules".

On my other laptop it isn't recognized as a boot device at all.

Any ideas?

Is there a way to set the dock so it hides when covered by a menu?

Video drivers not loading after updating Slacko kernel

Hey gang, I was hoping you could help me solve this problem. I've got a Slacko 5.7 disc that I've updated with a 4.x kernel. But it boots to command prompt, so I did a "modprobe radeon" and now X works. Why aren't my video modules being loaded? How can I troubleshoot this so that they load...

So what happened?

If it didn't boot, it sounds like the modules you are trying to load are from Precise but the kernel is from Slacko. If what you are trying to do is switch to the Slacko kernel, /lib/modules, /lib/firmware, and /etc/modules also have to be switched.

Thanks, Rob! That looks pretty good!

I did some reading about xdotool, and while it does sound easy, I agree that the menu applet does sound like a better idea. :)

Cheers!

I changed grub.cfg to say menuentry "Start Fatdog64-631.iso" { loopback loop0 (hd1,0)/Fatdog64-631.iso linux (loop0)/vmlinuz initrd (loop0)/initrd } This gave a similar error message to the one screenshotted above, except the "booting Fatdog" line is missing. So it was just error...

Ok, so I downloaded Fatdog64-631.iso and extracted all the files in uefi.zip to the usb stick without modifying any of them. Then I moved the fatdog iso to the stick, and rebooted.

The result, with no changes at all to the uefi package, is this:

I really like this dock. It's very nice, lightweight and functional.

Any possibility of getting a "menu" icon?

I'd also like to figure out how to get a shiny black version of the reflection theme.
