Hi, I'm using the slacko version from http://distro.ibiblio.org named puppy_slacko_5.3.1.sfs which I've had a few weeks. Where can I get the latest version from? I noticed the one on that site is now named slacko_5.3.1-SCSI-MAIN.sfs This is a bit confusing. On this same laptop hard drive I can boot ...

I should have made it clear from the outset that I wanted to boot to different versions of puppy linux and have them live independently of each other on my hard drive.I have at least learned that I can already have multiple pup_save files for a particular puppy linux and I'll automatically be given ...

Thanks for the replies, I hadn't realized about the multiple pup_save[-----].2fs files which can be in the same partition as the pup_300.sfs and will appear on a select menu at boot up. I will take advantage of this in future. All these attempts to have multiple partitions have led me into another p...

follow up

Doesn't look as if anybody is going to come back to me on this.I just want to keep puppy 2.17 which I've spent some time adding to while at the same time trying puppy 3.00 and beginning to build it up. I think I've achieved it but not understanding how puppy actually works I've had to take a blunder...

wpa with zd1211 wifi

I've been using a Safecom usb wifi adpator chipset zd1211 with puppy 2.17 for awhile now.It allows me wpa encryption as an option which I consider a must.Yesterday I downloaded and tried puppy 3.00 but the network wizard wont allow wpa encryption as an option for zd1211rw.I assume this is an oversig...

Can puppy linux read a UDF DVD (Answer: yes!)

I've just burned a DVD from windows with alot of the linux stuff I seem to be acumulating.I used the UDF format to avoid long filename corruption. Then I booted puppy linux to get access to it but it wont mount.Have I made a mistake using UDF or can puppy be made to access this format.

Thankyou so much
Problem solved by changing single quotes to back tick above tab key.('-->`)
I can't understand why it worked in the console of vector linux but it doesn't
matter because I want to stick with puppy it boots so much more quickly from the hard disk.

Thanks for the reply I've now tried this whole thing with vector linux and gtk1 compiles in a console and in the make file. Convincing me I'm not being a fool about what I expect to happen. I tried your suggestion and got the following in the console sh-3.00# gcc 'pkg-config --libs gtk+-2.0' 'pkg-co...
