^ what they said. Choice is good, everyone has their own preference, the initial browser choice prompts are good and quickpet works well too. The lightest, most functional browser stock with user choice gets my vote too. Never liked dillo, but that's just my own personal opinion from limited experie...

I've never trusted ppm suggestions and always searched the net for latest whatever. Not sure why. Just do.

Agreed, but if one is spending less than twenty quid on a computer... usb sound can be had for less than a fiver and is bound to be pretty generic at that price. Even some supposedly pro usb audio gear doesn't require drivers in windoze.

Puppy might not be pretty...

A system wide icon overhaul wouldn't go a miss. First impressions and all that.

Re: video in 528 Same problem on two different laptops. Inititial boot looks great but first request to restart x always borks it. Not familiar with xfce nor saluki so may be wrong. What I meant was that if you right click the screwtape folder options should appear one of which is 'set icon'. Click on that and a dialogue should appear with instructions to drag and drop an icon to that dialogue to associate your chosen icon with...

Right click folder, select set icon and drag the devil in. May also need to go to menu, desktop, desktop template, save custom and select custom for persistence.
