I have an image file of gparted. Please do I have to make a CD bootable before I can use gparted on it? Or I can just burn the iso file on the empty CD and it becomes bootable?

Please somebody should clear this out. It may seen stupid but just be nice on this: Is it wise to GUESS that testdisk and photorec will start from bios startup or they actually do? Thanks
