Atempt on a Fresh install Puppy 4.3.1.

I just tried installing the .pet fron cinerlerra and the .pets for the dependencies on a fresh puppy 4.3.1 frugal install Came up with a need for libxcb-xlib.so.0 Found the lib in a small archive file on the forum for a completely different purpose: (Missing libraries) http://www.murga-linux.com/pup...

I've tried compiling it - no success yet. Needs cmake 2.6 or newer and to quote: Required libraries: - Qt >= 4.3.0 with devel-files (4.4.x recommended) Optional, but strongly recommended: - JACK with devel-files - libvorbis & libogg with devel-files - libalsa with devel-files - SDL with devel-fi...

Puppy has the right "driver" or module, its just how it gets setup using a standard Puppy distribution with an EeePC. Its all about turning the ath0 module on and off at the right time EeUnbuntu has that already ironed out. A newer PupEE has it already okay. Okay to persist with this Unbun...

Joikuspot running on your phone looks just like a normal hotspot to the EEEpc using puppy or any other system. The manual for Joikuspot light says: "Some laptops....may require that you allow "Computer-to computer (ad-hoc) networks only for JoikuSpot. This is NOT the normal case ..."....

I'm still using Puppy 4.20 based PupEEE I have not checked if there is a new one. wlanconfig is in this 4.20 version, but I don't think a standard puppy has it. You may find it useful to find the latest version of a Puppy that is adapted to suit the EeePC, or download a .pet that adds the functional...

@ econmoney I think my vote is now with Lingot as a tuner for your distro. I just tuned an acoustic over a low quality mic with it and it worked. Amigo posted it on page one of this thread as a slackware tarball. I just spent half an hour on making it a little pet friendly. Its so small its worth it...

@ technosaurus I can't download your sfs file due to a password requirement on the host server there. Can you tell us how to download it. I'd like to try it, because I have to use a separate pupsave to avoid java with medusa conflicting with another java I have installed. @ vtpup QCAD from Ribbon So...

Just stumbled across this thread sfink16. I think the problem may be some "unmovable" system files in Vista, that if shifted during repartitioning make Vista go bannanas. Here is a quote from a thing i did in another thread in setting up Puppy on a pre installed vista Machine. Defragment f...

@ Ecomoney, Don't go jumping the gun. I'm not sure if the tuner is so user friendly to include in your distro tomorrow. Hang back until at least a few people say hurrah! I love it. At this point in time I can't tune my guitar with it. I don't doubt its abilities - I just doubt the documentation, or ...

Peter I'm facing similar problems to you in reverse. My modules for 2.6.21 kernel work, but I can't get it to go for 2.6.25. Its a different chipset to yours, but its teaching me a lot. Rule no 1 - don't give up. "Mercurial" has to do with the team of people putting together the driver and...

peebee I didn't need the af9005 module at all so testing was not possible. It really looks like the module I uploaded for you was from a different version to the rest you have. One thing I have found out - it is best to get all the modules you need from the same version of the driver, and possibly r...

not going yet for Puppy 4.11 2.6.25

Now I'm trying to get the same unit going in puppy 4.11 with the 2.6.25 kernel. Its not proving as easy as the older 2.6.21 kernel puppies (pup 3.1, 4.0, or the 4.11, 4.12 retros). I'm probably already 90% there, just one error Compiling the OEM Linux_MT2060_2.6.20.tar does not work. A newer driver ...

peebee I have done the af9015 for the 2.6.21.7 kernel and I think I got the .ko you need as a byproduct of the compile job. Are you sure thats all you need? Getting a DVB-T system to work can be really tricky and you may find yourself compiling a lot of modules and messing with the right order befor...

ecomoney and TTuuxxx
Thanks for a little trying on it.

@ ecomoney - have you tried using guitune yet? - there is very little documentation about what the adjustments SN, Trig etc actually do.
I think with the proper adjustments it would be powerful - if I only knew what they were doing.

Guitune, gtkguitune guitar tuner

Guitune mentioned by amigo does work - somehow I compiled the gtk version from http://www.geocities.com/harpin_floh/kguitune_page.html Its fast - I just gotta work on it to know how to use it When building it in pup 4 I needed - they may be dependencies to run - i'm not sure: http://distro.ibiblio.o...

Crashes for me too. I haven't debugged it.

I've migrated to mickey hex editor for my needs:

The binary works straight away in Puppy. Its not as nice looking as ihex but at least it works.
