FreeCAD 0.17 on Fatdog64 710 final (native build)

FreeCAD is a open source 3D (parametric style) modelling program. Homepage https://www.freecadweb.org/ I really wanted a working install of FreeCAD 0.17 on my Fatdog 710 final system. To avoid segfaults - taking a .deb or other installer from elsewhere was not an option. Native compile or nothing! (...

Brother MFC-J5910DW

Thanks to this fantastic thread and some other posts from rcrsn51 on the forum I was able to finally get my Brother MFC-J5910DW to work for me. I'll save the story of 48hours of greif and anguish and cut to what worked: 32 Bit - in good ol Lucid Lupu Puppy 528 (yes its old but it loves a lot of my o...

This game still compiles nicely. The original homepage is offline, but I tracked down the sourcecode. Vulcan-0.92 source https://app.box.com/s/shyqjdtglgd7u0ii4pcyyzjcl8adi1eb It compiles in Fatdog 64 (I used 621) Vulcan-0.92-x86_64 https://app.box.com/s/q3xdknjskz2c89c46ct6olsu19z7058k Note I haven...

imobiledevice iPhone iPad tools for Fatdog 64

I got given an old iPhone 3Gs Hated the idea of getting into Win to do itunes and the like. Distros like ubuntu have libimobiledevice built in. Lean and fast distros like puppy and derivatives don't, but it is still possible to connect your i device. Here is how I did it. I compiled the needed libra...

Anyone tried compiling a lot of packages and come across failed recipes? I'm losing when trying to natively compile either well known software or odd lbs used by some software that I got going on FD 6 series without any issues (or easily solveable dependency issues). Commonality: "recipe....fai...

@ chimnya123 If you have done several QT installs, chances are some parts are not agreeing with each other, version wise or how they were compiled. QT is a monster - so its easy to get it to tie itself in a knot. TIP: If you are going to use it often, make a savefile (if frugal install or similar) j...

@ mini-jaguar
Honestly I have no idea. It might pay to look at the official website.
http://frodo.cebix.net/

I think the originator is planning an update soon - maybe it just might include a full screen option.

Ted Dog - I needed curl for the build. Honestly I haven't had time to check if the final binaries need it but it did show up when I "ldd"-ed it. (It may have something to do with online playing). I didn't develop the software - I just compiled it. I can't say much for bloatware developers ...

Torcs For Lucid Puppy 528

@ iamhealed Sorry -- about 1 year later someone replies to your post :?. I only got mine going earlier this year so I hope I can help you out. I got this binary (torcs-1.3.0-linux-glibc-2.3-pIII.bz2.run) from the torcs website and ran it with a chunky pupsave with lots of free space just to be safe....

Variations on Rockdodger 0.5.5 for Fatdog 64 Bit

I noticed this game first on Jemimah's Puppeee 4.4. So cool for a simple game. Concept: like good old arcade asteroids only on steroids! Unlike asteroids you can't blow up the asteroids -- a little more realistic. Inertia and gravity play a role and I just love the explosion in it. Great when your m...

LMMS 0.4.13 in 64 Bit

LMMS 0.4.13 in Fatdog has not been the dream I hoped for. Up till now i was using a 0.4.9 LMMS I found somewhere in Fatdog 64 repositories -- possibly in the all in one audio sfs. Problem is the almost essential zynaddsubfx synth doesn't work -- and nearly all the demo lmms projects out there use it...

In setting up my Fatdog 64 bit system I found Audacious simply too much when all I really wanted was XMMS and to play playlists of MP3s. OBD2 Software for Puppy and Puppeee

At the moment this is more of an experiment than anything else so try any tips at your own risk of frustration. Background: I bought myself a USB to OBD2 interface (ELM327 Chipset) to do the automotive diagnostic stuff on my car. I wanted to basically read the fault codes. Deleting them would be goo...
