Sadly, it seems as if monitor prices aren't all that good. Even used monitors are still costly.

Samsung Syncmaster 225bw repair?

Can anybody help me figure out how I can repair my monitor? I don't know anything about soldering. The backlight on my monitor has failed and supposedly the fault lies with the inverter board, but I don't know to fix it. I can't afford to get a different monitor.

The age of your CPU is irrelevant if the company that makes the motherboard doesn't provide firmware updates anyways.

@musher0

the more and more you post in these political threads, the more and more you disprove the stereotype that all Canadians are nice and friendly. As one who is against stereotypes, I congratulate and thank you.

CCleanup: A Vast Number of Machines at Risk Talos recently observed a case where the download servers used by software vendor to distribute a legitimate software package were leveraged to deliver malware to unsuspecting victims. For a period of time, the legitimate signed version of CCleaner 5.33 b...

AMD's are often referred to as heaters in the gaming communities. Probably mostly by Intel fanboys. My main PC is AMD based. Before I turned on the governor in Puppy, I'd come home with it having run full tilt all day and the room was decidedly hotter. No problems with CPU governor on now though......

Re: The Young Pope

I don't see any american movies. I am disgusted by their extreme violence. So a series such as The Young Pope with Jude Law as the pope is a dream come true. So refreshing, so illuminating, so well played. It is a must see, if, like me, you can't stand any american movies for their extreme violence...

After all thse years, remote desktop works on Wayland

After all thse years, remote desktop works on Wayland but only in GNOME. Isn't it wonderful these major distributions are pushing tech that isn't ready for mainstream use.

There's nothing bad about browser extension themselves; There's only a problem when you install malicious ones. BTW, Most of the extensions I use have the source code hosted on Github.
