it would be good to hear your thoughts about this. It is basically NOT a problem to support both, but they are not equal, so the backend I use daily will be the only well tested solution. Atm, I am developing on Slacko which uses ffmpeg. As I see it, there are 3 temporary ways out of it. 1). Precis...

For the upcoming release it would be nicer to have ffmpeg 1.1 or later, many bug fixes, additional codecs & filters -> VLC Note that Audacity might still require the obsolete ffmeg 0.6 series... * can't install Chrome 23 or later with PPM * With my laptop, I sometimes use an external screen. How...

BUG: fails to boot

tested fresh USB live install of
slacko-5.4-opera-PAE

On Core 5 : OK
on Core 7: does not boot: can't find puppy_slacko5.4.sfs

P.S. Could you upgrade as well FFmpeg to version 1.0 or latest build, as it fixes anoying synchronisation bugs.

Thanks for Slacko

beta7

wish: updated ffmpeg (version 1.0) as it has many more codec supports than version 0.8, for instance WMA lossless

Bug issue:
Still the accented filename/folders which appear as "not valid UTF-8. You should rename it", no problem under Win7

Rest ok

Humm; Bary is reading and swiftly fixing. :) So I'll make a first other suggestion: Browsing through a large directory of images, say 100 JPEG each of at least 4Mbytes (12Mpix nothing exceptional with today's camera), takes ages with Viewnor. This, whether on old PC or Core5 or Core7, while the same...

What happens when you run 'Multiple Sound card Wizard' ? Well it worked with it ! ASLA wizard and Multiple Sound card, ought to be re-grouped in a Sound Management Wizard. according to this thread HDMI audio may be set as default. http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/hardware/...

Talking about PPM. I suggest that the confirmation buttons, such as for trim are placed at the top of the screen and not down. Indeed when there is a long list, the buttons are out of screen, and it's only by KNOWING how many tabs and then hitting enter, that it works. Also issues about sound...

I think it's a general issue with all Puppies, i already reported this back in Luci525, just as the scroll wheel on a keyboard to change volume is not recognized.

FYI: Linux Mint LXDE works fine with HDMI out, and if I recall Ubuntu, but Ubuntu is way to CPU heavy.
