It's my understanding that the OP wanted to do this: Go to a web page, select a bunch of stuff and do a copy... notice the picture is select too! http://tnttt.com/images/2012/copy.png Go to a document, and do a paste. The picture was not added separately. http://tnttt.com/images/2012/paste.png I've ...

Nice job on this Puplet! I like it. I was going to do the same thing in Woof, but now I don't have to. Thanks! BTW, when I put in a USB stick, it doesn't seem to mount, that is, I don't see it on the desktop. But I can see it in Thunar, no problem! Mike P.S. I loaded up LibreOffice.sfs I notice that...

I have a thought. What if you print it to a PDF? Then open the PDF and copy and paste the pertinent area to abiword? I believe the reason you can't copy and paste directly from the web to abi is because the pictures are linked. But in a PDF the pictures are no longer linked, they are part of the doc...

I notice that Purebasic is not on that list. But Purebasic is another good option for Linux.

Is there a dev pet for Lucid?

I'm using Lucid Puppy 5.2.8. I've got PureBasic 5 installed, but when I run the compiler, I get a gcc command not found. Is there a dev pet that I need to download to get all the development tools? I've looked here and can't seem to find it... http://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/pet_packages-lucid/...

speed difference USB 2.0 vs 3.0?

For those of you guys running Puppy on a USB stick, is there a big difference when booting/saving between a USB2.0 and USB3.0?

and if you happen to know, how does the speed of the CD compare to the USB?

Thanks

I recall Libre was able to do it correctly. In my tests I was also able to do a copy and paste from a MS word document into Abi and it kept the photos. The problem only comes when I try to paste from an HTML document. (Something to do with the nature of photos not being part of the html document, bu...

Bestimmt nicht Karl!!!

@Arcanis,

Very good explanation and advice!

I'm not knowledgeable enough to respin a TorPup. And I don't think clicking on the "remaster" button after loading Tor qualifies as a secure distro.

Thanks for the heads up on the other distros!

Secure surfing puppy?

Has anyone put together a secure surfing puppy?
Something with either TOR or anonymoX

And a secure email package with PGP or something similar?

What other secure items would such a puppy need?

Tutorial to customize an IceWM theme?

Hi guys, newbie here

Just grabbed a copy of Racy 5.3, and the Icewm.pet

I'd like to customize the IceWM. Is there any documentation or tutorial that would walk me through changing the various components? Menu Bar, Icons, Window, (everything that makes up a theme)?

Thanks,

Mike
