How do I chose Icewm for desktop
Puppy 4.3.1
Installed Icewm, but cannot see any way to use it. I can only see the standard JWM desktop options. Do I need to turn on something?
If you answer, please be specific.

not powering off - puppy 4.3.1
I tried the suggestions, and no luck. Here is what my unedited wmexit and wmpoweroff files look like: wmexit file: #w003 CURRENTWM="`cat /etc/windowmanager`" kill -9 `pidof $CURRENTWM` ##exec killall $PREVIOUSWM ##exec killall X #killall X #default is SIGTERM. #sleep 1 #exec killall -9 X #...

How to use Linksys WPC100 PCMCIA wifi adapter in Puppy 4?
Anyone know if the Linksys WPC100 Rangeplus Wireless Notebook Adapter (pcmcia) will work with Puppy 4? I have tried Ndiswrapper (I have the Windows XP drivers) but no luck. If you have it working, please let me know which driver you used since i have tried a swarm of them through the autoprobe but n...

Accessing Internet through Windows 2000 server network
I have revamped an old laptop to be used mainly for internet access and email with Puppy 4. I got it up and running on the laptop in a few minutes with no problem. Everything seems to work fine, and it sees the network adapters, even says i have a live network and finishes the DHCP search. Blinky sa...

Possible fix
I have a similar situation and use Puppy just fine. Go here: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=8908 Read this procedure. I have modified it slightly. If you have a machine with Windows XP on it, use it to format a floppy t make it bootable. On the old ;aptop, creat a partition that is...

I can't remember how, but is there a way to make this script a simple icon I could click on to activate it when needed? I assume when I re-boot my original settings will be in place, so I just want a way to quickly click on an icon to disable the WEP key. If I don't do that, I will never remember wh...

I have had the exact same problem with 2.14-2.17. I connect fine on my home system, but can never connect on an open public connection. I can boot into Windows and connect just fine. I have never figured it out and just figured it to be a problem linked to somethingI was doing. It is nice to see it ...

Non-guru advisory: retrograde to 2.17.1 But that spoils the fun. Using Puppy and bending it to my will is a ball. I will not be defeated! NEVER! Well, maybe some day. But not yet. Someone out there in Puppyville has the answer. As it is, Puppy has allowed my to take a snail slow laptop and make it ...

When Xorg starts, it logs to /var/log/Xorg.0.log -- look in this file to see if anything unusual, particularly toward the end. If you can only do it without X running, use mp console text editor: # mp /var/log/Xorg.0.log Nothing at all was in the log when viewed from the commandline. I was not able...

I created a FAT partition and boot using a floppy. The main information is here: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=8908 I made modifications since then, such as putting everything on the root of the FAT partition drive. So that I absolutely could not inadvertently mess up anything on ...
