hi Dewdrop, I re-checked my md5, and reburned my cd... rebooted into puppy 2.0, after reformating my usb pendrive in fat. I tried again to use the universal installer, this time, in V-fat. It worked, and installed fine on my pendrive. Then I rebooted, as usual with 1st boot device in USB-ZIP, which ...

can't install Puppy 2.0 in USB pendrive...

I am trying to use the "universal installer". I follow the procedure, and it stops when asking for the cd, where it can find the files. The installer says it doesn't find the files in the cd, but I am running Puppy 2.0 from that very same cd ! I also mounted it... So I am not too sure what...

:? yeah... I was puzzled by the silence around Puppy 109... However, I am sure Ladislav knows about it, since he reads the DWW comments, and the release has been well commented there... I am also puzzled that Barry's page mentioned yesterday (may 18) the actual version as 109, and today it's back to...

By the way, let me give you some feedback on my test-drive of DyneII (the new version of Dyne:Bolic) : SOUND WORKS !!! However, Puppy is one of my favorite OS (maybe THE favorite...), so I really need sound to work. And as mentioned in some of my other posts, it is not anymore an issue of buying a P...

:D Geoffs, I get your point, and my critics abound sound problems are being posted here as a constructive feedback. I know that since about 2 years, most of my posts in the Puppy forum mention at least a bit the sound problem for all of us, Via 82xxx chipset users in the world.... But keep in mind t...

Re: Sound Driver

via 82xxx OSS or ALSA, no problems here with this epia 5000 - I don't remember ever doing anything other than booting up. It's always worked. OSS at least since 0.98, ALSA since whenever it showed up. Now, JACK, that's a horse of a different colour... --Huey Huey, that sounds great for you , and I ...

:) I thought Elive (I thought it was called Olive but that is another distro) stunning. Re: Sound driver

I've got another PC that uses the via 82xxx sound driver. It worked with OSS, but I haven't checked it with ALSA. It should do, it's a very common sound driver. I'll try it tomorrow. Please let me IF and/OR how you got the ALSA to work with via 82xxx sound driver. It never worked, neither OSS or AL...
