I have an older 32-bit laptop running TahrPup PAE. The mobo has a max of 2 GB ram, which is what's installed. I have a second hard drive with a 6 GB swap partition, but the most I can use of that is 3.72 G ... I know non-PAE systems can address a max of 3.72 G memory ... but this is able to use 2 G ...

[SOLVED] Wireless issues in Wary 5.5
I'm staying with friends who have a WPA-secured wifi network. I first attempted to connect with iwconfig Didn't work. Right. So wpa_supplicant, that at least seemed to work. Can't get IP address, dhcpcd times out waiting for carrier. So. Maybe I have the password wrong? Anyways, in the intervening t...

Thank you everyone for replying! What kind of server? samba, ftp, NFS, http, sshfs? Samba. Drive icons are drawn by /sbin/pup_event_frontend_d and in new Pups by the /usr/local/pup_event suite . mount and umount use functions in /etc/rc.d/functions4puppy4 to redraw the icon MNT status ( or ball or f...

Add a drive icon/pseudo-drive icon for a network file server
I've just set up my own personal file server and I've been considering attempting to add a drive icon for it on my laptop. I know it's not the same as a regular hard drive/usb drive ... so I'm not sure that it is possible. Apologies, I'm actually thinking through this problem as I write this post. O...

Sorry it took so long. I didn't forget! It has apparently been too long to edit my post, so here it is, the conky configs for my previously posted neon goodness! Requires a Conky 1.7 + to display the image and certain things correctly, the 1.6 didn't do it. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic...

Public-access computers and Puppy ... just conversation
I don't know if this is the place for this thread but it seemed right :? I know a couple forum members have (back in 2006/7 it seems) started internet cafe type places using Puppy as their OS of choice. Well, me, having a little fun and dreaming about this, has been thinking about ways to get things...

GIMP plugin: X11 mouse cursor
I've never done this before!! So I hope everything works out okay, that I'm posting in the right area, that the pet works, and so forth! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a plug-in for GIMP 2.6 and above which allows for importing and exporting X11 mouse cursor files. (File ext...

Not much real shiny ... but I've been having lots of fun making the icons ... Based off the neon icon theme. I made up matching rox-filer buttons/icons/whatever, and rearranged and changed the color of some stuff so it wasn't so blue :D http://i48.tinypic.com/2zrq5hk.png All the i...
