Compressed save image with btrfs
There was an old discussion here on the same topic . Now the tahrpup default kernel has btrfs support builtin, so it should be possible to have a compressed save image more easily. I've tried installing the btrfs-tools deb package and it works pretty well. It also features a btrfs-convert tool that ...

EMGD drivers for Intel Gen7 GPUs
Hi, according to this page
the EMGD driver should provide better performance than the open source intel i915 module.
Can i install the deb packages from this repo or i need a custom build for tahrpup?

I'd like to avoid re-unpacking the deb packages because i will probably run out of disk space in the virtual machine (or out of RAM, if using /tmp). As alternative, i'm considering this solution: # 1. uninstall the base package with all the deps apt-get autoremove kubuntu-default-settings-trinity ku...

How to build an SFS out of installed deb packages?
I am trying to build an SFS image of the Trinity Desktop Environment R14 for Tahrpup . I've made a minimal Ubuntu Trusty installation in VirtualBox and installed all the packages from the TDE repos via apt-get. Now i need to get a list of all the installed files including the dependencies, so i can ...

TahrPup and KDE4 SFS error
I'm having an issue with kde4.12.3.sfs and TahrPup 6.0.1 CE:
after the first reboot something gets broken and KDE does not start anymore (Could Not Start kdeinit4 error).
dolphin and other kde apps are still loading fine from the jwm console...

Couple of thoughts... If your PC has 4 gig, but you're not using PAE or 64bit, you've probably only got 3ish gig to play with. So PAE or 64bit is possibly your solution on its own. Yep i knew that, but for the moment i would like to stay with this build. I am going to switch to TahrPup as soon as t...

My PC has a 4GB memory stick. I'm planning to get another 4GB memory stick, but not now... Also i will need to switch to a PAE-enabled Puppy build to make use of all the memory (i'd like to avoid 64-bit build because they take twice space for the runtime libraries). Btw there is no internal had disk...

system freeze when the RAM is full
I'm using Upup Precise 3.8.2 booting from an USB pendrive since last year. Recently i am getting frequent freezes during internet browsing. I guess the cause is my browser (Firefox) requesting too much RAM: it usually happens while buffering HD flash videos or when i have many tabs opened. The GUI b...
