This person has a computer that will boot Precise 5.7.1 OK, but Tahrpup 6.0 CE boots to a point and gets a kernel panic. Seems to be a computer that Tahrpup 6.0 CE should work on. His version of Tahrpup 6.0 CE does work OK on another computer. Any ideas what may be going on? http://www.murga-linux....

The included web-browser Palemoon does not run for me, it exits with the message "Illegal instruction" when ran from terminal. I have an AMD Athlon XP 2200+ processor, which lacks the SSE2 instruction set, this looks like the problem. I can always download a different browser though... (bu...

Please refer to my post in the Precise 5.5 topic. Some (most?) packages in the Ubuntu repos have something like this in their *.desktop files: ... Categories=X-(category)-Sub ... They aren't appearing in the JWM menu, after neither installation nor running fixmenus and restarting JWM. In the /etc/x...

I don't know if this has been known before... If I install a package that has a *.desktop file, it should have a menu entry. Well, most of them do. But when the category is listed like this in the *.desktop file (example is from the fceux package in ubuntu precise) Categories=X-Fun-Sub It does not ...

Two very minor issues in the RC:
1. Glipper's tray icon is still completely opaque, it's in a white box.
2. Acceptthesesettingsandadjustconfigurationfiles(y/n)? in pppoe-setup.

I'll post them if I find more :)

2. Package deps like "upstart-job" aren't resolved in PPM. There is no such package name "upstart-job" in the Ubuntu Precise repos, as it's a virtual package provided by "upstart". One such package dependent on upstart-job is "binfmt-support". Yes, I see. OK,...

Hi everyone, I found another debdb2pupdb bug. It's in 5.4.3, I have to check yet in the 5.5beta. Some Ubuntu packages have weird dependencies like "udev(>=", "libx11-6(>>" and so on. The root cause is that in the Ubuntu package databases, in the package dependency data, sometime...
