Semme, this is getting to be too difficult and time consuming and with a potential for damage when I get something wrong. The bit about adding a repository is taking a lot of reading, etc. Does there happen to be a package that will let me easily add a repo ? I have tried Slax linux and the gpredict...

from the repository and I get an error with a lot of text which basically says that these packages are not available.
libgoocanvas3_0.15-1_i386.deb and
libgoocanvas-common_0.15-1_all.deb

Any idea how I can solve this ?
