Thanks Todd I've been there and registered. :) Since this forum is terribly unstable and slow sometimes I feel we desperately needed a backup. Now we just need to get the word out to new users that they have an alternative if this forum doesn't work and make sure regulars also check out the new for...

Does Pwireless-0.8.3 handle WPA/PSK?
Hi plinej, Thanks for creating yet another useful tool! One problem I run into when I use Puppy (I've used it for many releases now, but I have to admit that I do not use it on a daily basis) is that when I come back, particularly since I started using Wireless Networks, I have trouble figuring out ...

Shagbag (and anyone else wanting WPA), RazzBear's information is UNIQUE to the Ralink drivers. Ralink is the only Linux wifi driver which natively supports WPA encryption. And of these, only the rt61 and rt73 drivers will accommodate the configuration file which RazzBear used. The rt2500 and rt2570...

Dell Latitude D600, Intel Pro Wireless 2200
I am here with a Dell Latitude D600 with an Intel Pro Wireless 2200 network card. I also often use a Dell Dimension 4100, which has worked for years with many versions of Puppy, large and small.

Re: 3.01
@masinick: regarding dhcp problems can you give your puppy version ? Urban 3.01, though I have other versions as well. Puppy 3.01 looked at if it ought to work but I had no luck. I use WPA-PSK and I have a text password that includes letters, numbers and a symbol. I can get at it with a Debian base...

Looks like it may be a sidux tool
Do you know where to get ceni from? Is it a sidux tool? or a generic tool? Back in November 2007, a number of people on the sidux forums were encouraging the author to make ceni more easily available. A simple, but powerful and functional script, ceni has never failed to activate any interfaces tha...

Useful information; I will try this out again
It is "normal" that scanning sometimes finds some networks and sometimes it does not. But answering your question. There are several places depending on what kind of connection you have. Check the following /etc/<interface>wireless /etc/<interface>mode e.g. /etc/eth1wireless The wireless ...

Heard about Chubby Puppy, seems off line
I had a positive recommendation from a friend about trying out Chubby Puppy. I already have Puppy 1.0.4 and like it very much. There is a link on the main Puppy site to a gentleman who kindly provided a "Rolls Royce" Chubby Puppy Edition, but I have not been able to access it this evening....
