I ran HarryWills script and it looks to do about the same thing as what I did in my thread. I'll see if I can get a friend to bring over a Razr to try that script and modify it to work in 2.14r. HarryWill's is nice since it is a simple click to connect script. Mine, you had to go into console and ty...

I think the big hurdle is in getting the kernal to have the right drivers. In both the 2 and 3 series Puppies, when you do a usbview all but 2.14r have red for the vendor id and product id. 2.12r 1.01 was the only version of Puppy that I got it to recognize the Razr. I think the key is to get it rec...

I see you are trying to get your Razr to work for internet. I got one to work for a friend of mine on 2.14r 1.01. Here is the link to my post. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=26247 I was not able to get any other version of Puppy to work with it. I used wvdial and showed what I used...

Thanks ttuuxx and john biles for the quick responses. I think that I had tried to install the firefox pet but didn't have a big enough personal storage size due to limited space on the hard drive. I could not make it bigger. I now have more space freed up on that hard drive so I'll retry to install ...

Very nice looking! I have a couple questions. Are you using Firefox? What version of Frostwire did you use? What version of Java? Any Ipod support like your previous version? I've been trying to get Frostwire to work in 3.01 and 2.14r 1.01 with newest versions of Java and Frostwire and have been hav...

Welcome to Puppy! Until Bruce B gets back to you this might help. If you are booting 2.14r 1.01 from the CD you need to type in Pfix=ram at the first welcome screen. This will tell the computer not to load and use any saved session. If you load a saved session .2fs file it will change the name of th...

I see that people have had luck with kppp, I downloaded it last week and have thought about trying it. It's too bad that Linux is not as easy to install equipment as Windows is. Too many times the developers forget about us. Usually someone can figure out a way to make it work. Printers seem to be a...

getting a motorola v3m cell phone to work on 2.14r v1.01
Hi Puppy forum members, I have been interested in trying to get Puppy to work on cell phones for about a year. I have a Kyocera KX12 from Alltel. Since that time, I have used a Windows based program to give me access to the Internet. At the present time, I still am not able to get my Kyocera to work...

WhoDo I think sums it up quit eloquently. Personally, if we have 2.14 and 2.16 CE editions, I think thats great! I also hope that 3.xx won't be abandoned in favor of Dingo and hope that a CE will be offered later on. I think Barry said somewhere in a early post that it was not the purpose of Dingo t...

I guess I have not played enough with any of the 3. series Puppy other than Fire Hydrant which I liked for the fact of having Firefox and several other things unique to it. I do have a copy of 2.14r which I like because it mounts your drives and puts it at the bottom of the desktop and makes it easy...

can you lock a hard drive to prevent unitentional deletions
I've been wondering if there is an easy way lock out writing to a hard drive? I'm thinking about this for kids or for people who love to "play" with functions on a computer and run the risk of deleting essential things that are already on it. I know you have to "mount" a drive be...
