What repos does Fatdog64 use? I need Gstreamer plugins
Well the title says it all? Where do I get the plugins I need? Slax repo? Ubuntu repos? Also how do I add that repo to the package manager? I need (Gstreamer plugins): Good Bad Ugly ffmpeg Fluendo and I'd assume Alsa Those are what I needed for Puppy Precise anyway. I'm running Secondlife Viewers an...

Putting the filesystem.sfs inside initrd
I've been playing with FatDog64 and noticed that the filesystem.sfs is inside intird. FatDog starts up SUPER fast!* Is this because of the contained .sfs? If so, how can I make my Puppy Precise do that; put the .sfs inside initrd and have it work? *So fast you barely have time to read the loading te...

I wouldn't include the SFS add-on files in the remaster as these can be added on if you want to use it in future (so don't load it when you do the remaster). The sfs files were the reason FOR the remaster. I don't know how to mount 25 sfs files in a system that only supports 6 other than to manuall...

Update:Cherry Cupcake wrote:How I set up my Puppy:
Well, something was wrong. Every once in a while the hard drive light would come on and stay on for 5 or 6 minutes. Then I'd get a partially grey screen and everything would lock. Back to the old method.

How I set up my Puppy
How I set up my Puppy: 1) Mounted every .sfs I have and installed all pets. 2) Set up Internet browsers, backgrounds and all other settings. 3) Remastered it into a new puppy-raring.sfs file. It’s over a gig (lol). When it told me it had created /tmp/whatever and check it I copied the original whate...

My system requestors are messed up
How do I reset the font pointers or whatever they are called? All my system requestors are showing little rectangles instead of letters and are unreadable. I have to guess at what they are saying and which button is "yes" and "no".

Saving a LOT of sfs slots
I just tried something and it works! I made a folder called "ExtraStuff" and copied the contents of every sfs and pet file I have. Then made an "ExtraStuff.sfs" from it. It worked! Mounting that caused all the setups and menus to appear. It's huge (well over 1 gig/4 gigs uncompre...

Save file size limit still 4Gigs?
Is the size of the savefile still limited to only 4Gigs? I know this was done since FAT32 can only handle that size file maximum but this is 2014. We have NTFS and EXT2,3 and 4. Can I make my save file a useable size now? Maybe 16Gigs? If so how do I make it larger? The largest option on the save di...

this thread might be of help. However, some kernel compiling might be necessary, I'm not sure. Thank you but I have no idea what all that was about. All I got out of it was a link to a viewer that may work but there's no Linux version that I can find. > post your computer's specs and we can lend a ...

Need full Intel GMA X4500MHD driver
What I wish to do: Install a full-blown driver for my Intel GMA X4500MHD video card into Upup Precise (or ANY puppy). Why I think I need to do this: I play Secondlife a lot and on my system under Winblows AND on my friend’s computer using the same Puppy but with the extra Nvidia drivers the graphics...
