The left mouse button does not work when running Slacko on VMWare player. It worked with the 32bit versions of Slacko & works with the 64 bit version of FatDog, so it seems like I should be able to fix this. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks for your help! :)

BTW -- has anyone else noticed that the volume icon on the taskbar "shrinks" after it has been clicked on?

How to change drive mounted status badge ...

There is a small image of a green square with an 'X' in it that overlays drive icons to indicate that they have been mounted. In the past, I have been able to change this by changing the images located in /usr/local/lib/X11/pixmaps. Can someone point me to where the image is stored now? Thanks. http...

If nothing else, I've learned some new things! :)

I tried each of the available kernels -- the older ones wouldn't boot & the newer ones had the same problem.

'Fn F7' does turn off the trackpad (and it works correctly in 630) -- I've been careful to check that each time I make a change. There is a "50-synaptics.conf" but NOT "10-synaptics.conf". I tried libinput and xf86-input-libinput early on without success. I tried adding "wai...

Semme wrote:If FD has this directory >> "/usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d".. What's in it?
It has that folder, but the only thing in it is a link to "rgb.txt".

/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/ has 6 files in it, including "50-synaptics.conf".

Aside from this line >> "udev:/sys/devices/virtual/input/ input9 /event9", referenced from your screenshot, nothing in the Xorg log file corresponds with your touchpad. I should have clarified -- that shot is from 630 -- nothing shows up in 701. I also don't notice any loaded driver runni...

What's "lsmod" look like from 630? You can dump it to your home folder with: lsmod > ~/lsmod_630.txt PS.. I'm think'in "evdev" would help and possibly having "gdm" run @ boot in system services. Copies of /var/log/Xorg.0.log and your xorg.conf file would be useful. Som...

PS.. How'd you make out with this page ? If Synaptics doesn't support your touchpad use the Gslapt package manager to install libinput and xf86-input-libinput and then restart X. Libinput is used for Wayland input devices and xf86-input-libinput is a wrapper so Xorg-server can use it. I tried that ...

You've got a few notes here >> ftp.nluug.nl/ibiblio/distributions/fatdog/web/faqs/ If I enter "cat /proc/bus/input/devices" in 630 the synaptic driver shows up, but if I do the same thing in 701, it does not show up. It appears to me that the driver never gets loaded at boot. I tried boot...

I'm not on FD @ the moment to check but, you probably need to manually load the driver. You can see what's loaded on either system with "lsmod", then snoop around /lib/modules/ kernel_version /kernel/drivers/input (which should be a similar directory aboard FD) and see if you can figure w...

Another question that I hope someone can help with ... My touchpad works fine with Fatdog 631 but not at all with Fatdog 701. When I try to use 'Adjust Touch Pad' from the Control Panel is says "Couldn't find synaptics properties. No synaptics driver loaded?" I am using an Acer V3-371-57 J...
