emacs . I have the full texlive on my old Debian box, some 4Gb if I am not mistaken. I have not needed to make a LaTex document for a little more than a year, but I used LaTex almost daily at the uni from 2000 onwards, and I still think LaTex. From time to time, some GUI editors turned up, and were...

.sty files (Tex Programming) and input Options
I was troubleshooting a texlive installation that was likely missing some files due to insufficient memory during installation (at least that's my working theory). I got the following error: No driver specified You should make a default driver option in a file graphics.cfg Here, is the code that pro...

I had some issues getting hyperlinks to work in my LaTex documents. https://www.overleaf.com/learn/latex/hyperlinks As discussed this might be due to an error in the installation process rather than anything that was fundamentally missing under normal installation. Anyway, the troubleshooting stateg...

Latex, Octave and Interest in COVID-19 Science
I've taken a bit of a break from puppy in part because I got stuck trying to figure out some ssl related stuff and also because of interest in the science of COVID-19. As I dig into things more it won't be enough just to quote relevant sections of a given paper but I will want to try to either repea...

If you have to add a 64bit kernel, a 64bit--compat-sc64-19.06.sfs, and maybe, do some tweaking, to get everything working. Are you actually just making a 64bit OS? If you can take a 64bit Puppy version, add it's 32bit compatibility sfs package, making it able to now run 32bit or 64bit software. Is ...

Peebee has released a 64bit-compat-sc64-19.06.sfs in ScPup project thread. I have used in ScPup 19.06 a modded 64bit-compat and it did work. I had skypeforlinux in 32 bit ScPup. It does not work anymore with ScPup 20.01. Thank YOU, watchdog. I knew I wasn't dreaming it.....and I had an idea it was ...

Here's an updated version I built last night: a32pup-20.03.iso%2B1RC3.iso I'm still working out certificate issues with firefox but certificates should work with (git) haven't tested yet. The check_deps_gui has been improved and of course there are updates from woof-CE and likely also the arch repos...

Multiple sources say that around 5% of people that get COVID-19 require an ICU bed. That number is likely higher than the actual. We really have no idea how many cases there are in the US or most likely Canada. Without testing of the general public, you have a strong selection bias in the numbers. ...

Hi, s243a. Next time, please use the URL button to highlight the URLs in the text? Highlighted URLs make any article easier to read. TIA. Fixed. Apologies. I was posting late at night. As to your subject, I'm not sure, but I think ICUs for patients with serious burns do not have ventilators. If tru...

I found some more info: Here's the number that I was looking for. On average people are spending 15 days in the ICU (for COVID-19 ICU cases) https://www.esahq.org/esa-news/analysis-of-covid-19-data-on-numbers-in-intensive-care-from-italy-european-society-of-anaesthesiology-esa/ and this is in Italy,...

Required ICU Capacity for COVID-19
I was looking up some numbers related to COVID-19 and the ability of the medical system to cope: I would like to address the "treating aspect" because I'm not show how effect the world will be at "preventing" COVID-19. Alberta has 7.9 ICU beds per 100 000 people. https://www.theg...

Archlinux seems to have removed the certificates from this package: ca-certificates 20181109-3 The docs show them as there: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/core/any/ca-certificates/files/ but when I extract it not of the Mozilla certificates are there. Therefore I'll take the certs from debian si...
