No, I had to keep Win, because it is a ridiculous, tiny netbook without optical drive. I have no installation disk, too. You can encrypt your flashdrive with Diskcryptor, simple, but you cannot use it with Linux. Take Truecrypt, more difficult, but definitely doable. It runs on Win and Linux! With T...

Linux unusable for non geeks!
I had a few serious tries with Linux, but there were always things not working. May it be Synaptic Package Manager, Update Manager, dimming brightness or ceaseless crashes, insufficient manuals, updating, etc.. No wonder a vast majority is using Win. Getting things done with Linux...no! Endless tink...

Here the specs. I do not want to run TP on a PC, on a netbook instead, as mentioned. Because the dialog in yellow windows did not appear a gave it a try on a PC and those windows popped up. Then other problems appeared as described. A try on my netbook-same problem, only a hard reboot brought that n...

Keystrokes not working, reboot via switch of the PC. Seems to be one reason why a vast majority do not use Linux, it is not worki...

No bootup at all
Drive format FAT 32. Bootup on a PC this time, adjusted brightness as adviced. Clicked shutdown, dialogs in yellow windows popped up. Clicked accordingly. That was awful because most distros do not offer permanence and a folder where data can be saved. On another stick I installed an OS with USB-Cre...

Tahr pup on USB stick: settings not saved
Hi, Via YUMI I installed Tahrpup(tahr-6.0-CE_no PAE) on a stick. Started it on my netbook (VAIO VPCW21C7E). Display is fully bright, the Fn keys do not work and I did not find another way to decrease-I bet there is a simple one, but where and how? After every bootup I must adjust everything anew, no...
