Newbies - Puppy needs YOUR help too!
Puppy is great and stable, but, IMO it still suffers a lot from old Dos type command strings which of course have to be syntactically correct to work. As a Windoze user this has largely been taken care of (which keeps their users dumb) but does usually achieve the end result. I don;t want to have to...

Security
I have Tahrpup on USB. My question is that when running the OS, are there ANY files that are written to HDD or remain in the computer that could be interrogated at a later date by specialised software.
I have some legal document information that I would not like to be shared with anyone else.

Well, I was ok up to the rfkill command. This executed normally with the same result as yours above, which to mew indicates that the bluetooth in the pc is recognized. When I run HCISCAN my bluetooth is not found on the sound system, so no MAC address is available. It requires 0000 to pair, but ther...

Very astute Tempy...., You are so correct, the bluetooth recognition is most certainly a problem. My nokia phone syncs with the adapter and plays music through the sound system easily, so I know the adapter will do the job, all I've got to do is get the pc to do the same thing, which is how this top...

I found the above ppm The instructions below to install do not work for me, they are sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install blueman the file is a deb file if that means anything. I thought ppm's were supposed to install themselves, I can see myself abandoning Linux, yet again. All this just to get...

Currently, the audio system has a usb port which powers the Bluetooth dongle. The dongle then feeds an input jack through a seperate wire, to provide music after pairing. I don't think this audio device is internet friendly, which is why I'm pursuing the bluetooth option. I have paired it with my ph...

Kodi should be able to do this for you. http://kodi.tv/ I have created a SFS file for tahrpup that can be downloaded here: http://www.smokey01.com/software/tahr-6/kodi-14.0-tahr.sfs Sadly, I can't find any mention of selecting a Bluetooth device to pair to, for music output using this software. The...

Stream Music from PC to Audio System via Bluetooth
Hello, I want to stream my extensive audio on my PC to an audio system. The audio system uses a USB Bluetooth to receive the audio. It works with my mobile phone, but I want to use my laptop. Is there some software available that can do this. I am not really interested in streaming radio from the in...

How to change Tahrpup's default font setting? -- (Solved)
I want to change the default font from Sans to Arial which has been loaded in the font directory. Using the font tool, I set arial, but it won't move from Sans.
This is to eliminate wiry text which is quite hard for me to read.
