Re: when
When Xenialpup 7.0.4 CE BETA will remove BETA and confirm as final version. Any date in mind? Thank you :) It will probably go back to alpha, there are a lot of changes including touchscreen support, that are not in xenialpup... I wonder if the change from Tahr to Xenial is just too extensive and t...

How do I delete something installed with "eppi"?rcrsn51 wrote: 1. Install the Epson-Puppy Installer tool from the attachment below. It puts the script "eppi" in /root/my-applications/bin.
The.deb file does not show up in the Puppy Package Manager "Uninstall" list.

@Robin2: Aren't you using Ubuntu 16.04 now, instead of Tahr (Ubuntu 14.04)? NO. I am using TahrPup on the HP15 while typing this. The only thing TahrPup won't do on this machine is operate the Broadcom wifi properly - so I am using an old Belkin USB wifi stick. I have tried Linux Mint Mate on this ...

perhaps i misunderstood robin or dont follow you-- are you saying that new puppies will be made using woof-ce or not? I am suggesting that we don't need any new Puppies after TahrPup - hence there is no need for WoofCE apart, perhaps, from some tweaking of TahrPup. If people are using old hardware ...

without woofce there wouldn't have been a tahrpup I understand that. But now that we have TahrPup do we need WoofCE any more. You don't need to keep the family pram when the kids become teenagers. Or, more seriously, is there any need to develop WoofCE any further - just keep it in the garden shed ...

with NO disrespect intended to robin intended, the main thing missing from puppy isnt developers, but users that understand the road to quality is someone trying the distro out and reporting problems (so they can be addressed.) I do understand that but to be honest my level of knowledge is too far ...

I have been using TahrPup exclusively for about 18 months having switched from Xubuntu. I particularly like the fact that it can be installed by copying 4 files and editing syslinux.cfg and also the fact that all the changes go in a save file so the whole thing is easy to backup. I also like the ide...

OK perhaps you misunderstand me . sometimes the correct driver does not work with the kernel you are using and needs to be recompiled for that kernel . Thank you again. I listed the driver I am using in my Original Post. My understanding is that it is correct for the WiFi device and for the kernel ...

The answer in my case was to get a driver for the device compiled with the kernel version I was using it in . It then ran as expected without the hangups. Thanks. I believe I have the correct driver. I am having no problem with the USB-stick Belkin Wifi device. I had problems with the onboard Broad...

Problem with Broadcom BCM 43142 WiFi
My new HP15 has the Broadcom BCM 43142 Wifi module and I got it working with Tahrpup 6.0,.5 and the driver in the broadcom_sta-6.30.223.271_k3.14.56-pae.pet downloaded from http://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/pet_packages-tahr/ Recently I have been trying to have the same Puppy setup on an older Co...

I may not have been making sufficient use of ready-made SFS files for major applications. I will look into that. I have tended just to use Puppy Package Manager the same as I used the package manager in Ubuntu. However it is probably the small stuff - such as Lxterminal, Sqliteman and minicom that a...

The save does have specific hardware settings for the hardware it was made on. Just make a separate save file/folder for each computer. I know I can do that but I was hoping to avoid it because with separate savefiles I must download the software (GIMP, Thunderbird, Sqliteman etc etc) twice. Perhap...

Problem using the same Puppy on two laptops?
I have a Compaq CQ10 notebook and a newer HP15 laptop. I would like to be able to have TahrPup on a USB stick that I could use on either one with the same software downloads. The standard downloaded Tahrpup 6.0.5 works fine on the CQ10. But the HP15 needs a different Broadcom wireless driver and wor...

Thanks. I had found those instructions but I am not experienced with that stuff. I did download the source code but I could not figure out the LINUX_VERSION - firstly because there seem to be several versions mentioned and secondly because the style is unfamilar #if LINUX_VERSION_CODE >= KERNEL_VERS...

I have now been trying a HP15-af154sa laptop and VLC works fine. The only problem is lack of support for the Broadcom BCM43142 WiFi card. I have asked about that in this Broadcom Thread.
Incidentally VLC and other stuff is also working perfectly with 32bit Tahrpup.
