Hi I'm running 109ce. Why ? Because it works, mostly. It has Firefox, Sylpheed, Gaim, Abiword, Gnumeric,Ghost view, Gxine, Leafpad and mtPaint . My wife is an engineer and hates Gnumeric and to a lesser extent Abiword with a passion so I will bow to her greater ability and say that they are not so g...

My impression in the past is that Puppy versions were typically left with too many unaddressed bugs before Barry went off in a completely new direction.
That is why we use 109ce in this house its stable.
I like JWM The only thing that I would like is a different wallpaper for each desktop.

Ok I have tried the new network-wizard and the patch neither worked. However deleting /etc/init.d/rc.muppy-autoconnect did work.

Mplayer works with x11 set, that might be a better default if it should always work.
I havent re-tried muppy server yet.

Thanks Auda

I have tried Muppy and like everyone else I'm impressed. However I have to re-enter my static IP address every time, its not saved as other settings are. It boots directly to KDE for example. Muppy server has a similar problem but worse, it wont accept any static address, says that its invalid even ...

Bad luck....you're probably infected already....under 30 seconds now I believe. Used to...

I have been waiting for a multi-user puppy since um well I'm using 109ce and haven't seen a good reason to change. Grafpup 2 was looking very good but unfortunatly had a few bugs, mounting drives was my main one, then Nathan F. stopped working on it and now I see that grafpup.com is no more. If you ...

Offending God will certainly cause you grief for eternity. What I find amazing is that you actually expect people to believe you. I hope that the fanacitcs don't ruin something good and claim it as their own, christmas and easter both rebranded pagan festivals, spring to mind. I must say Linux has ...

but is it possible to install filters to stop users accessing certain sites
I dont know but I guess that if you added a list of banned sites to the hosts file it would work. I have a list of 16,789 sites in my servers hosts file that redirects to a local page saying I have blocked that site.

I'm curious as to how you are booting xp. I tripple boot 98se, xp and puppy. My method is: install 98 then install xp, this give a "windows happy" dual boot. I then install puppy (to /dev/hda4) and grub (to the MBR). I'm using 109ce and it seems to work well. My menu.lst is like this : # S...
