Seems to requires a monthly / yearly subscription :( Can't begrudge them for trying to make a buck tho...seems like a nice machine. Perhaps though they should have made an effort to make the GUI look more responsive in the demo clip. Looks really jaggy :( I too wonder what flavour of linux that thin...

What makes you think I didn't?

However, surely PuppyOS users would know more about how Puppy works than PCLOS ones?

Do you post questions about Puppy Linux on the PCLOS support forum ( http://www.pclinuxos.com/ )? If so, how do they respond? Now if you'll excuse me, I must run down to the local Chevy dealership and see if they have a valve cover gasket for a 2003 VW Passat ... Misc Puppy related raves and genera...

Frugal, puppy-like install of PCLOS?

Though some you elder puppy statesmen might know the answer to this one. Is there anyway I can install PCLOS directly to a FAT32 system without partitioning is, as I can with Puppy? That is to say Boot into Windows Copy and Paste all the files off the live CD into a folder on C: drive Write the nece...

Sweet low power motherboard / thinclient

I've been toying around with the idea of getting a Via Epia board and making a new box. However I just found this

Do you have zoom set to aboove 100% as default? Also try displaying the page in Author mode - see if that makes any difference. For some reason, Opera, even at identical resolutions, isn't as clear under puppy as it is windows. I tried importing fonts from windows and using them but it didn't seem t...

Unfortunately, I still can't get it to work properly - random crashes etc.

Anyone having any luck with it?

My understanding is that's what pretty much happens: everything in memory gets flushed on reboot. I suppose if something is saved to the hard drive, the virus could be saved along with it. However, I'm fairly certain that a linux based virus (there are very, very few to begin with) cannot attack win...

Wine and Mspaint? (SOLVED)

I have a program I use under Windows. Wine emulates it perfectly. However, part of the program calls up Mspaint to display images. I've had very little success in getting Wine to run mspaint and was wondering if any of you had fared better? Basically, I copied mspaint.exe and mfc42u.dll from Win XP ...

Creating a redundant folder - icons vanish

I thought I'd tidy up the desktop a little by moving unused stuff to a seperate folder I go into root, create "stuff" I drag and drop files I don't use into that folder (eg: 'Connect', "Default Browser' etc). All good...except when I try to move them back again....the lose their nice,...

How to re-organize fluxbox menus for less clutter?

So - I'm liking the look and feel of fluxbox. But - due to all the stuff puppy comes with - it looks very busy. I'm wondering - is there a way to take all the items I don't use from a particular menu and move them into a sub-menu (XYZ) so that they don't clutter up the clean lines? That way, the &qu...

Same kinda deal here. Clicking on "X" tends to cause it to drop out to shell for some reason.

Hmm....doesn't seem to do anything. Installed it, dropped out, type xwin windowlab (also tried xwin startwindowlab). Nada.

Quick check in pet manager says "seems that all the dependencies required for this package are installed"

Maybe more fun for another day...
