Tried 32bit version and got kernel panic.(2.4gb version) Using 64bit version does work. It does find my scsi drives, but thinks they are usb flash drives. They are usable once booted, though. Also, at shutdown, I cannot make a save file. On the shutdown dialog, the location it is saving to is blank....

Will this detect SCSI drives, or even better, boot from them?
I have a server with two U320 drives which Slacko, and most other modern puppies, does not see.

Also if you have the chance, check the cables. May be a loose connection.
Although I had similar error messages once before, and it was the cd drive that had failed.

Depending on settings and ISP, there may be a copy of your recent messages on your ISP's server.

If you have two monitors set up, check in /etc/X11/xorg.conf which one is set as Monitor0
It may be as simple as changing the line Identifier "Monitor1" to read Identifier "Monitor0"

Welcome to the forum.
Do you get a flashing cursor on the screen?
If so, type xorgwizard
This will allow you to set up your video card and choose resolution and driver.

Meanpup

There is a Meanpup (puppy-2.02-opera.iso) by John Murga at http://www.my-plan.org/storage/puppyLinux/
Fits on a 50mb cd. I have not tried it, though.

Did you get a .ppd file on the cd that came with the printer?
Copy it to /etc/cups/ppd and run 'Add Printer' and your printer should be found in the list.

The CUPS page at http://localhost:631/help/network.html gives this for Epson printers; socket://address i.e; socket://192.0.2.2 or whatever your address is. Do you know it? AppSocket should be the best choice, but ipp or http may also work. As for printer driver, I wouldn't have a clue. (Mine is a H...

Try changing the colour depth in xorg.conf
If it is 16 bit, try 24 bit, or the other way round.

Possible attack?

Mods - Not sure if this is the correct section - if not please move. About a week ago I was having trouble with my broadband connection. Logged in to the router, and it would cycle though the states, showtime, handshaking, training, down, etc. Turned it off for an hour and reset, still showing diffe...

I totally agree, I have a similar box to yours, I just didn't want to raise the OP's expectations that two cpus meant twice the speed. I noticed more of a difference in applications than internet speed, for example.

Are you in the UK? If so, I could post you a few cdr's of various smp iso's I have tried, including Dpup.
I currently use the same as Aitch.
Note that with both processors it will not be twice as fast, more like 10 - 20%.
