I guess I will try a frugal install and see if that fixes my kde problems. Perhaps reverting to 2.10 wouldn't hurt either. :)

So is /mnt/home the correct place for sfs files? For the sake of clarity, is this where I should have placed the kde sfs files?

So sfs files are not supported by a normal install?

And here I was thinking it would be wise to make a full install. :x

Should I try again with a frugal install?

Not for nothing, but I do not have a pup_save.sfs at that location. In fact, I had to create "/mnt/home" in order to place the kde file. And after searching with gtkfind, I don't even have a pup_sfs.

Is that bad?

For some reason KDE wants to be funny and not properly install. I dunno if it is just that I suck at installing sfs files or whether it is broken under 2.12.

Yeah, I meant rc.local0. Any ideas for modprobing the wifi at boot?

I don't mean to kick this topic, but I don't want to crowd up the forum with a separate one. I recently ran the mkkde script, and everything seemed to go well. I used that last list in the first post for my tgz. I moved the sfs file to "/mnt/home/" and then ran the DotPup file as required....

Seems like this battery is just about through. IT ALWAYS gives me a 50% (well, at least in the XFCE appliance) I installed the 2.12_seamonkey_zdrv.iso, and it always gives me the option of saving the config after I configure the DHCP. Is there any way to "autoload" a driver? The way I woul...

Update

It seems that the network settings are not saved upon reboot. I looked inside the ath0mode file that is supposedly holding the driver info, but it is not in there. Only rudimentary connection stuff. Is the network Wizard broken or do I have to do something else? Also, trying to install the KDE sys_f...

Puppy 2.12 on Toshiba Portege 7200

Yep. I recently acquired quite a few Toshiba laptops and began placing Linux on them (only tow had hard drives, both of which had Windows NT4 with passwords). I tried out quite a few distributions, among which I could count Debian Etch, Knoppix, Xubuntu, KateOS, E-Live, Freespire etc. However, I had...
