Trobin, Is there a particular links for Speak-3-Pup? Speak-3-Pup I cannot find it. Also which version of Puppy does it work with? I'm guessing version 3. Is there a discussion - other than this one - for Speak-3-Pup? I didn't get a message that there'd been a reply to the forum so I didn't check for...

There is a notation on this page about Intel Wireless drivers http://www.puppylinux.org/wiki/hardware/general/wirelessworking Also there is a Intel Wifi Linux page here - I'm guessing additional drivers can be put in the / directory and take off the tar.gz as mentioned on the above page. http://www....

I have an "on mainboard" sound card and an additional (better quality) soundblaster PCI sound card. I have to run alsaconf to get the new card. Also I tried to change the settings to use EN instead of DE as the voice. I got it working but with some work. I'll have to set the "onboard ...

Trobin, Here is a font converter that will convert Adobe type 1 fonts to psf (screen fonts): http://home.comcast.net/~fbui/bdf2psf.html On that page there are two additional fonts: 7x13 8x13 I have downloaded those fonts and attached them to this message. I have no idea how large they are! I'll have...

Baffling Problem - C:\windows\system32\explorer.exe /desktop

I tried to run a WMV video clip and gxine wouldn't run - that's not the problem - some times it hangs up and it works fine if I reboot. BUT I looked at my process scanner - and I found this line: I have WINE installed - but I've called no exe program (or other executable) - but it looks like somethi...

Need an Edit-SFS for Puppy 4.xx

I am posting here because edit-SFS does NOT seem to work with Puppy4xx.sfs files. I've posted to ask for a program request on the Seeing Puppy for the Blind thread, but I feel MU or others who might be able to see will see this here. We have great need for this to finish up SpeakPup - the screen rea...

I am posting here because edit-SFS does NOT seem to work with Puppy4xx.sfs files. I've posted to ask for a program request elsewhere, but I feel MU will see this here first.

We have great need for this to finish up SpeakPup - the screen reading Puppy for the Blind.

Thanks,

David

You can also take the iso and open it up with ISOMaster, then just drag your folders from your / directory and re-write the folders - it will add the files that you have changed. Also if you know specifically where your script files are located, you can specifically add just these files. Be well, DR

I believe that there is a choice when you remaster to keep "your settings" - that will probably keep your scripts. Also, when the remaster script announces, do you want to keep any of the files were not putting in, they tell you were the files are. I've done that once time - I thought that...

OK, I downloaded the iso, booted it, and it came to the command line. I'm guessing when you made the iso you didn't put back the custom /etc/rc.local file The rc.local file is empty except for commented out words. The iso when booted just comes up to command line and complains about cannot start x w...

I am having the same problem (exactly) that Ray reported and to which MU responded. However, your error is very untypical. If it is an issue with your DVD drive, you might have luck using a frugal installation. As you used k3b to burn, there is already another Linux? If yes, one might just copy vmli...

If you can upload an iso, we have a few very talented people from some of the Schools of the Blind who have gratiously said they'd tackle a CVS or iso and help out. I just learned how to contact them, and as soon as I did they offered to help. That's a good sign - also even if you only have a 2fs fi...
