Its a Puppy2 issue. Still sorting out why it happens. The code that detects which PCMCIA slot is used skips out and assumes you are runnina PCI or USB based wireless. So it "intelligently" removes the Reseat and Eject buttons, which only apply for PCMCIA.

Personally I like the Webfs server.

A tarball install is at:
http://dotpups.de/144.118.197.41/webfs/webfs-pup.tar.gz

It can be used to serve static HTML with a single command:

webfsd -j -p 80 -r /your/html/folder/ -i you.r IP.add.res.s

There is some rudimentary CGI support.

akilan - I do not know what is wrong with your setup. It sounds like a driver issue, because the MAC address of the access point is always reported as 00:00:00:00:00:00. If you're running wifi-beta or ndiswrapper this may be normal as some functionality may be lost in the translation. I would sugge...

Arch Linux. The simplest "diy, nuts and bolts" distro I've seen. Precompiled packages with an excellent package manager. Mix the best parts of Vector (total control & binary packages) and Gentoo (excellent bleeding edge repository & rolling releases) with the learning experience of...

WAG does not involve itself with either of those files.

Bladehunder's Wifibeta did that.

It will always say that because it can not detect an AP called "Autoconnect". My fault on missing that exception.

WAG is still at 0.3.2. I'll be combining it into Rarsa's ethernet wizard, although I'll probably do one more bugfix release, for 2.6 kernel and ad-hoc networks. The "not using PCMCIA" is a 2.6 kernel thing, my autodetection code breaks. Edit the "/etc/local/WAG/wag.conf" file and...

Why not just add the spaces? Lots of things in regular bash break if you forget to add the spaces, most notably around the equals sign in an IF test.

For such a small thing that may not really be a bug, getting rid of bash-diff seems a little extreme.

Thank you. Very thorough mirror. FAIL was just stuff I'm still sorting compile issues for. The /usr/ subfolder that most programs have is just an uncompressed version of the -pup.tar.gz file. The hosted drive is also my building environment, though you seemed to have cloned it between compile sessio...

In the next 24 odd hours I will be moving, and my server will be down. It should be back up and running in a week.

Could someone host the latest version of cli-dev-pack.tar until then?

I've got a list of apps a mile long, so expect plenty of new things when the server resumes.

Only if the phones were based on x86. And even then, no.

Might change my opinion if you can make Puppy usable on a 200x200 screen with only the number pad and arrow keys for input.

tinyirc - lightweight irc client (22Kb exec)

Yeah, a lot of usability testing needs to be done. I have my preferences, but so do the rest of you. For example, Centericq is amazing, supports every chat from AIM to Jaber. And has RSS and LiveJournal in there just for fun. Also has the best TUI. But the binary is 3.4Mb. Add libraries, and Centeri...

If anyone wants to make dotpups out of these, go ahead. I've already converted man pages and other things to play friendly with Puppy's file system. I've pulled together all the apps that will really put some meat on OneBone. All together they come to 15Mb and are available as a set at http://144.118.197.41/cli-dev-pack.tar Note that they are just tarballs that are uncompressed at / Very few of the dotpups are mine, I just wanted to host everyth...
