mesa_DEV  (OpenGL is not in the default) Easiest way to get it is Slickpet>Drivers(tab)>Mesa. You get a popup with the choice. HTH Apologies for the late reply. Thanks for that. Now I need to have the gstreamer libraries installed in order to build the mediactrl. Any help here? Would you perh...

SlackPup 5.3.3 wxWidgets needs OpenGL
Hello All, I am attempting to build wxWidgets SVN head, but get the error that the opengl headers are missing. I have the devx loaded, and examining the puppy package manager doesn't seem to point to anything looking like an OpenGL library. Am I missing something or is there another method needed to...

The partition where your save is is /mnt/home in the filesystem. You have to ahve a save file in order to use .sfs modules and they have to be in the same place as the save file. And of course saving to a DVD doesn't create a pup_save file. Damn Alternately, you could mount it using the loop argume...

Live DVD - Where does devx_400.sfs go? - SOLVED
I managed to burn a DVD and boot Puppy 4 from this. I shut down Puppy from this Live DVD and saved my session. I downloaded devx_400.sfs and since there was no /mnt/home I created one. I then copied the devx_400.sfs file to this location. I then restarted Puppy. I was not asked if I wanted to mount ...

OK, using the instructions here I was able to compile and install Hiawatha.
If I can help further, let me know.
Code: Select all
mkdir /mnt/devx
mount -o loop /devx_213.sfs /mnt/devx
cp -a /mnt/devx/* /
umount /mnt/devx
If I can help further, let me know.

Thanks for looking. I also added a .desktop file but when clicked on, nothing happens. (I downloaded the sfsmanager-menu and altered it as in your previous post) This might offer some help as to why things aren't working as you expected. I removed the devx_216.sfs file using your script/dialog, and ...

New install, devx_216.sfs, attempted to install using your installer. I have no idea why, but the Install Errors window contains the following /lib/libncurses.so /lib/libz.so /lib/modules/2.6.18.1/build /usr/X11R7/lib/libDtPrint.so /usr/X11R7/lib/libFS.so /usr/X11R7/lib/libGL.so /usr/X11R7/lib/libGL...

Thanks for trying to help. Unfortunatel;y I am either too dense or too stupid to use your suggestions. I have however solved my problem, by switching to Hiawatha. Downloaded devx_216.sfs and saved it where it should go (rebooted and added it to the system using the dialog upon reboot) Downloaded the...

Abyss web server startup on boot up and with root ?
Installed the abyss web server, but upon starting the server (./abysswx) I receive the error "Cannot execute the server using root privileges". Has anyone come across this previously? PUP 2.16 LIVECD. Installed by virtue of expanding the archive, moving the abyssws folder to /mnt/root And ...

Missing Library after updating to 2.15 Viz RC2
I installed Midnight commander (using the dotpup or pet - can't remember which at the moment), and after updating to 2.15 RC2, when attempting to run MC I get the error message relating to libgpm.so.1 "No such file or directory". Have I missed something? I believed that an update to my HD ...

Re: Puppy 2.15CE RC2 Standard Edition Plus
Standard Edition RC2 + web_215.sfs + devx_215.sfs + fltkc++_215.sfs = Developer Edition So where should I find the devx_215.sfs file? I have searched the forum for its location, including looking at http://www.puppyos.net/test/ which shows devx_214.sfs. devx_215.sfs is also not present at the locat...
