A similar experience
Hello all, I recently had a very similar experience. A colleague and friend of mine had tried to download some pictures from a digital camera into his Windows XP laptop computer. It seems the camera's software produced a horrible conflict with his Windows XP (Home SP2) and next thing you know, it wo...

more dialup problems?
Hello Robertb and plasticad,
I usually log in using Puppy Linux and xeznet. But to achieve it, I had to configure eznet thru the terminal interface, and I had to make sure that I set the CHAT option to NO.
I hope this helps.
Warmest greetings from Peru,
Oswaldo Bellido

I posted the article image and its translation
Hello all, I went to Puppian's forum and there I finally posted the scanned image of the article and its English translation. It was a little odd, translating what someone else said about me... Anyway, here's the link: http://freeforums.bizhat.com/index.php?mforum=com&act=ST&f=5&t=115 Wa...

the interview just came out!
Hello all, Yesterday the interview appeared in page 66 of the local PC World magazine. I just tried sending here the scanned page of my interview. However, the scanned page generated a file over 1.5 MB big, so it wouldn't fit this system. If anyone's interested, please send me a PM. I probably shoul...

Regarding Dex's question
Hello Dex, As I said before, the journalist was mostly interested in the possible application of Puppy in a "production environment", that is, for instance, in a public office with aging computers. I think he was impressed with the fact that I burned him a Puppy CD from my Puppy desktop. H...

Just show me the way and I'll give it a go....
Hola Rarsa,
If you show me the location of the XDG menu file, I can do the same thing I did to the standard Puppy menu file and give it a Spanish language interface to that particular window manager.
Saludos desde Lima,

I had a problem with the Standard 1.0.5 script
Hello all, Last Monday I did create my first custom Puppy CD. However, it didn't go as I expected. The desktop icons came out with my Spanish language captions, but my Spanish language Firefox and Open Office 2.0 didn't make it into my custom CD. How do I make sure they make it to the ISO file? By t...

I got interviewed!
Hello all, I just had to tell you, yesterday I got a visit from a journalist for the local PC World magazine. He wanted to know about my experience with Puppy and Linux in general. He's writing an article about small Linux distros and their fitness to use on old machines. It's a relevant issue here ...

Hello Ted Dog.
Thanks a lot! Right now I'm doing some research.... rather learning to create ISO files and burn custom Puppy CDs. I'll let you know as soon as I have a working ISO file.

CD remaster question
Hello all, I do have one question regarding the "Remaster CD" script. As far as I've read, the script starts with the current Live CD packages, and lets the user choose from the available online packages before burning the new CD. My question is, what happens with the other files downloade...

My next two translations
Hello all. These are my next two translated help files: "HOWTO-modules-es" and "HOWTO-microsoft-es". As you can see, they are both zip-compressed, as usual. As usual, you just need to download them, rename and backup the original English language files, then extract and replace. ...

an idea...
Hello all.
I might just suggest that, if a user has files in his hard disk, he or she could easily make a backup of those files to a USB memory, a CD, or another hard disk partition, before upgrading Puppy. Then he or she can restore them to their original locations.
Warmest greetings,
OzzyBB

Next translated document
Hello all, Just a quick stop to present my latest translation effort. As before, all you need to do is download the compressed file and extract it to "/usr/share/doc/HOWTO-network.html", AFTER making a backup of the original English language file. I think I'll do this, after all.... I'm ve...

How come I didn't do this before?
Hello All, As you may know, my name is Oswaldo, and I live in Lima, Peru, South America. I discovered Puppy a few months ago (@ version 1.0.4) and right after 1.0.5 came out, I was blown away! I think it's so cool, I'm using it even more than my default XP home desktop. If I could find a really good...

Hello all! Well, this is really unexpected! So there was someone else translating the Puppy wiki pages? That's great! Spanish language update
Hello again, I just translated the second help file, the "HOWTO Internet dialup". As before, you just need to download the compressed file and extract it to /usr/share/doc/HOWTO_Internet.htm. Now I wonder, isn't anyone out there willing to give me a hand here? I'm doing this on my free tim...
