Virtualbox
Henry, You jumped the gun a bit mate. Just re-uploaded the pet. To fix your problem try the entering the depmod-FULL command in the terminal and then re-start the computer. VB depends on SDL and OpenGL. Have you installed an SDL pet from the quirky repo ? For OpenGl you need either the mesa pet or i...

Opera
Magerlab, I thought Opera was starting to get bloated - especially when you consider that around 1.5Mb of mozilla libs are needed for the flashplayer plugin.

Clipman
Henry, the fix for Clipman is a simple one. It is looking for libexpat.so.0 and cannot find it. Open up a terminal in /usr/lib and link libexpat.so.0 to libexpat.so.1 i.e. ln -s libexpat.so.1 libexpat.so.0
As for Virtualbox I should have a pet for 3.2.6 uploaded soon - just testing now.

420 GO
MaxHeadroom, The NVidia-96.43.7.pet is for the 2.6.25.16 kernel and so wont work. You need the http://www.puppylinux.asia/tpp/NOP/NVIDIA-96.43.13-k2.6.30.5-1.pet Unfortunately the latter pet needs an update as the install script makes a depmod call which doesn't work in puppy 4.3.1 it should be depm...

Opera
Henry,
This must be a "save file carry over effect" as the r2 script is fine.
Just edit line 8 of the /usr/bin/opera script to
OPERA_BINARYDIR=/usr/lib/opera/10.10

libGLU
Looks like the latest version of Vbox has a new dependency - OpenGL. Didn't spot that as I already have the nvidia drivers (& hence OpenGL) already installed. If you have an nvidia graphics card install the nvidia drivers. Alternatively install the following pet for the mesa GL libs. ftp://distr...

shared folders
you need to run a terminal command like: mount -t vboxsf sharename mountpoint where sharename is what you have called the share in the vbox gui as Folder Name for example mount -t vboxsf vbshare /mnt/share the mount point must already exist so create the folder first I put the mount command in the /...

Firefox crash
Firefox crashes when trying to view embedded video. The missing libgconf4 is only needed by the crash reporter & so is not important. What is causing the crashes ? I believe it is the xine plugin (got from an earlier puppy). Either disable the plugin in Firefox, remove it from /usr/lib/mozilla/p...

error messages
ruuntt21, The error messages that you are getting are nothing to do with compiz or the nvidia drivers as such. When the xwin script runs it checks to see if the usbcore & usbhid drivers are loaded. Not sure why but they are reported as missing - though they have in fact been loaded during bootup...
