Hi. I re-installed hplip-slacko-5.3.3.pet. hp-plugin gives "can't execute 'python': No such file or directory" Strange. python2.6 should have been automatically installed by hplip-slacko-5.3.3.pet if no python is found in the system. I am sorry but I do not know how to solve your problems...

When installing a printer in Tahr 6.0 and 6.0.1, CUPS does not work. The http://localhost:631 is shown in the browser, but the submenus Administration, Classes, Jobs, Printers,... result in 'not found' when clicked. My impression is that cups in Tahr is not complete. In fact, I have compiled cups-1....

Hi mini-jaguar, the post you mention is rather old, and it may well be outdated. In addition, your HP LaserJet P1006 printer requires plugins.
