Hi I was just checking to see what type of install I did (going through the install again), and noticed there was some other boot install options. I tried the one that was recommended in the description, and it successfully booted my system afterwards. :)

So, I got Lighthouse loaded off the usb stick and I'm using it right now. Yeah, it's pretty neat. It's very fast and I like the little pop ups that tell you things like, there are updates available. I'm using xvesa because for some reason xorg doesn't work. If I select xorg, the screen goes and stay...

Just tried with BrowerLinux 366, but having some problems with what looks like corrupted graphics. You can kind of make out boxes and buttons, but that's about all. Just looking now to see if there is something i can change in the boot options.

I'm having some problems with the 4.4rc install. I would like to try 4.3 with UnetBootin, but I can't find the download link. I found something called current-stable-celeron.asc but I've no idea what that is.

ok, so I went for the puppeee4.4-RC2celeron.zip because that's what the older models used.

Could you tell me what eee_devx_514.sfs is? It was in the same directory.

Thanks.

Update:
Its running without crashing lately. Before it was usually failing while I was connected via WLAN and downloading torrents with Transmission.
For some reason it still only loads the desktop about 50% of the time.

Puppy accessing the CD drive after boot

I just got an old laptop and downloaded puppy for it. I booted with it and I have a saved config file for new boots. I thought puppy ran in memory, but it seems to be accessing the CD drive a lot and it's hanging for long periods whilst doing so. Q. Has something changed since last time I was using ...

I am running puppy 4 (I think, the latest) I have a SMC wireless card on a laptop connecting to a D-link 524 Access point. alternatively plug it in before booting
 I'm so embarrassed.
If you plugged the mouse in after boot you might need to enter this command on the console
modprobe usbhid
That also worked.

I really like what the scroll does with the system tray as well :o

Any tips for getting a usb mouse working on my laptop

I tried to use a usb mouse on my laptop, but it doesn't seem to take control. The mouse pad still works even with the mouse plugged in. Is there anything I need to configure to get it working?

Thanks.
