528.6 is a GO, for me.
To all those responsible for 5.2.8.6, thank you so much -- rerwin, you too, of course ;) Although, for the past year to two I have been using my Android Google Nexus 10 tablet most of the time, I like my Dell Inspirion Mini Netbook quite a bit. The Dell has been running Puppy 5.2.5 for years. All ef...

I've gotten truly outstanding service from Lucid 525 over the past year... One of the features I love is the binary compatibility with Ubuntu... ... The Ubuntu official repository is huge and well maintained... ... That makes the idea of a new Ubuntu-derived Puppy using LTS Precise *really* appeali...

... so how the heck do you keep multiple processors in phase when their physical separation is way over this? Can anyone help me out on this one? Why would you have to keep the multiple processors in phase? They can run asynchronously and: 1. Pass messages back and forth, at any time, between each ...

Has anyone gotten involved with the Koding IDE software development Beta program, at http://koding.com?lrRef=sHZFf ?
I am interested in finding out about the good, the bad, and the ugly. Any experience?

Did you run the Grub4Dos bootloader config? No, I didn't try that. Is it necessary to use Grub or Grub4Dos for a usb boot? I thought that was only for HDD install? Each of the flash installers has its own issues. After struggling with the installers for many months, I discovered that Grub4Dos worke...

It's also much more effective to raise OT sound issues in another thread for a poster with those issues. Anyone who wants to help a poster would be sidetracked by the reference to these chips if in fact the poster doesn't actually have them. I understand. Just for reference; a list of these threads...

If you are not using Intel 6 series /c200 sound chips, none of your complaints should be in this thread. Nor will you get any resolution for your problems here. I fail to see your reasoning. Once you solve the Intel 6 series/c200 issue, what makes you so confident that the other sound layers (which...

It could be instructive to know what audio hardware is in the computers with no sound or disappearing sound. if it is the same chipset as vtpup and mbiernat it might be worth them trying 5.25  Audio Adapters: Dell Netbook: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel MID Dell Latitude D400 laptop: ICH4 - Intel 8...

re. 5.25......5.28 Lucid caused problems with wirelesss (card unrecognized) as have all puppies I've tried prior to a 3.xkernel version. I doubt 5.25 will address the wireless problem, but I may try it out of curiosity to just check sound support. If it works it could point to the culprit in 5.28. ...

I too have had sound problems with several PCs and a HP laptop. This is with -003, I`m going to try -005. Same here. Every version, past 5.2.5 (that I tried) has had the sound problems on my Dell Netbook and Dell Latitude D400 laptop. That's why I am sticking with 5.2.5 . I can make the problem go ...

Re: Lucid
Short answer, yes. Some Slackware packages simply install and work out of the box but others may require some manual intervention. Fetch and install, what? Are there some populated package repositories, that I am not aware of, for Slackware 13.x? Since the days that I used Slackware 9.x, 10.x, and ...

Re: Lucid
The release says Slacko has the ability to "fetch" Slackware packages: While on the Puppy Package Manager, apart from Puppy's native PET package format it can also fetch Slackware, Salix and Slacky packages in tgz or txz format. But does it have the ability to install them? Short answer, ...
