That seems to have worked. Creating the file I mean. Luckily I had the original save file backed up, so I was able to just subtract the old size from the new one to get the increase size for pupsaveresize.txt. Might not be perfect, wasted space and all, but the size should be pretty close. Thanks fo...

Resizing pup_save.3fs
Alright, so I do something a bit unconventional and use a very large (5 gig) save file. When I used puppy 1.0x I had no problems resizing pup001 from WinXP, then using resize2fs to correct the size after booting into puppy. With puppy 2.10, I want to resize pup_save.3fs to be the same 5 gig size. I ...

Thought I'd give this a try to see how it works. I'm currently logged in from Puppy running on my MP3 player on a WinXP 64 machine. Some questions and notes: 1. Syslinux won't work on a WinXP64 machine. No worries, I'll have to install the bootable portion from my normal Puppy pseudo-machine sometim...

It's just a simple WinXP Pro box with shared printing and folders enabled, connected to my broadband router by a wireless card. Plugged it all into a UPS and shoved it in a closet in my home office after building a shelf to hold the monitor. BTW, turn off the monitor when you aren't using it, cause ...

Process Manager: KP vs gPS
I get a lot of hanging processes for one reason or another. gXine is particularly guilty of locking and causing problems with anything else that tries to create sounds (why isn't the sound multithreaded on everything to prevent this?) Normally when this happens I use the stock KP process manager to ...

Re: Where does Puppy's Linux kernel come from?
I know Puppy uses some variation on Vector for it's kernel, How do you know this? According to Barry's documentation, it is a pristine kernel with a couple of patches. Eh, I don't know this :) Just thought I'd read it somewhere. Not important, my question was just about wanting to know one kernel f...

Computer Algebra Systems and Puppy
I'll try to edit in links here as I find them to produce a complete list of available computer algebra systems (CAS) that work with Puppy (1.06). 1. Maple : I installed Maple 10 for Linux into my Puppy this morning, and as far as I can tell works perfectly. Note this is not a useful thing for most u...

I used this briefly but had a lot of problems with it. Frequently the entire system would lock up when spawning Mozilla from AMSN. Not necessarily AMSN's fault, I do a lot of tinkering with things here and my Puppy is not necessarily stable (hmm, seems to be a trend with all the dogs in this house, ...

Where does Puppy's Linux kernel come from?
Been doing my usual rounds of free operating systems (always on the lookout for a final, permanent replacement for Windows), and a question occurred to me which I can't seem to find the answers for. I know Puppy uses some variation on Vector for it's kernel, and was wondering why that one was chosen...
