I have the exact same problem on my Compaq Presario R3000, no idea how to fix it though, maybe one of the Puppy Guru's will save us both?

Cherry CyMotion Master Linux keyboard - KeyM@n software?

Does anyone think it worthwhile to make a .pup/remaster of the Cherry Linux keyboard KeyM@n software?

I have one of these keyboards, was a pressie for Christmas, but I'm not sure how to get the software to work under Puppy.

You know, I tried to read this thread, myself wondering just what was happening with the new releases etc, I got half way down page 2 and my eyes started hurting from all the bickering. Which leads me almost seamlessly to my point. Puppy lacks organisation, not means, method or motive. I have been a...

How to remaster Puppy 3.01? (Tutorial requested)

Greetings once again fellow Puppyphiles! Having first moved from 2.17.1 to 3.01 and getting my install 'just right' once again, I got given a 80gb HDD for my laptop, so, had to re-install all over again...bah, SO! After spending a few days downloading and installing every program I could ever possib...

Ahh that's a beautiful thing! Using the new version of CUPS (thanks MU!) and the new HPIJS drivers, I can now print to my HP K850DN from both USB and via my network with matching, perfect results. A beautiful, beautiful thing indeed. Thanks again guys, you remind me why Puppy is my Linux distro of c...

That's excellent news guys!

I'll give the new version a whirl in a few moments, I'm doing the whole 'super geek' thing at the moment, and trying to iron out problems at 3 in the morning. :D

CUPS to be fixed in 3.02?

Hey all, just wondered if anyone, especially Barry, knew if the CUPS problems were going to be resolved in 3.02? I work for a small sales & tech training charity as the general do it all IT guy, and I'm currently in charge of a Puppy based project at my works, selling 1ghz P3 machines with Puppy...

Solaris driving me mad, and I don't even use the OS!

I was floating around YouTube the other day, when I fell over the Solaris 10 - No Limits commercial. Very inspiring stuff. Thing is, I really like the piece of music that is played in the background, but have no idea what it is. Can everyone give it a watch & see if anyone knows what it is? http...

Puppy 3.01 + AWE64 Gold = No Go?

Hi again all. One of my systems uses a Creative AWE64 Gold ISA soundcard, which I got working in Puppy 2.17.1 using an older version of Alsa that still supported it. However, the dotpup I have for said version of Alsa doesn't seem to work on 3.01, so at the moment I have no sound. Does anyone have a...

Thanks once again all, the lack of window borders only happens when Compiz isn't running. I have now added a... sleep 5 && compiz-manager & line to .xinitrc, which starts Compiz on auto, adding the line without the sleep parameter didn't work, would just be left with a black screen. The ...

I think I've made slight headway, thanks to the help of wow and cb88, thanks guys.

There's one big problem left though...

I have NO window borders.

I mean, I've nothing to grab to move the window...nothing to grab to resize said window...nothing....

NOW what's wrong with the damn thing?

I've had a look at the dmesg, all looks like garble to me mind... The last line says "thermal: Unknown symbol acpi_processor_set_thermal_limit".

However, doing a ls on /proc/acpi was interesting...it doesn't exist.

Modprobe?

Hi again guys & girls. I just finished installing everything onto my new Puppy machine, and seem to have hit a snag. After many hours of swearing at my laptop a few months back, I got Conky working perfectly. I insalled it on here for CPU thermal monitoring, added lines to the conky.conf file wh...

Well, when I click on the "Run 3D Demo" in 3DCC it tells me to install OpenGL first, it's only a 1.1mb file so I don't think it's the entire thing, just the bits it needs, I really don't know.

Thanks guys, you were absolutely right, I was over-complicating the situation.

Installing the nVidia drivers then just getting OpenGL from 3DCC worked like a charm.
