I think the problem you are having is the same I had. I could not get my USB jump drive to boot until I ran SYSLINUX -s Z: The instructions on the Puppy website do not mention syslinux. Here is what I did to get Puppy to boot: 1. Copy Puppy Linux files to Z: vmlinuz initrd.gz pup_212.sfs isolinux.cf...

Beryl --- be really cool to get Beryl running on Puppy ....

I play with 2 Linux distos -- Puppy and Ubuntu. Both have certain attributes that I like -- but Puppy is my favorite. I have Beryl running on my copy of Ubuntu and that is a very desirable feature. Beryl's roating cube is very very nice thing to have. Not only is it the ultimate in eye candy but it ...

Do you think the reason I get erros with the "pup_save.3fs" file is that it needs to be formated first? How is a pup_save.3fs initially created?

Thanks

No Journal in filesystem on loop1 - Mounting /pup_save.3f3fs

I burned puppy 2.10 Seamonkey and boot it. I had a pup001 file that I renamed to pup_save.3fs. Then I followed instructions to defrag and expand it by 128MB. Can Puppy do better than 800x600 on Compaq IPAQ?

I've got an old Compaq IPAQ desktop PC (1Ghz P3, 256MB Ram) I purchased on Ebay. There are a lot of these type PC's on Ebay and they go for a song -- and would make great Puppy Linux machines. Anyway, under Windows 2000, the IPAQ will do 1280x1024 16k video resolution but with Puppy Linux 1.0.5, I c...
