This GLIBC error still occurs, I'm sorry to say. I can work round it (by not using Chromium!). Can I check I have compatible versions... I installed frugal Puppy from LxPupBionic19.03+5.iso and I loaded chromium_74.0.3729.169+pepper_32.0.0.192_lx_spot.sfs . Are these the versions you intended to be ...

Chromium doesn't start on BionicPup32
Hi, I'm coming back to Puppy after a year or two distracted by other operating systems, so I may have overlooked something simple and if so I apologize. I like the polish and speed of this latest LxPup (1903 update) very much, thank you PB. I downloaded the Chromium SFS and loaded it but Chromium do...

Aw, snap!
Hello peebee, Sorry to report, I've installed the linked Chromium 56 on lxpup xenial 16.08 and I'm getting the 'Aw, snap!' message on every page in Chromium, even the Chromium settings page. I've used Puppy for years but even so, I wonder whether I've missed something basic... All suggestions welcom...

Re: 15.06
I'm with the guy who said 2 is toooo low. I too run 7 with 3 threshold. I have to set this EVERY TIME I boot up. Annoying. Also wondering why 2 is a default. Is there some way I can set it and forget it? I've tried clicking on OK as someone suggested and nada. It saves to a folder (as suggested in ...

Thanks
A big vote of thanks to rscrn51 for the collection of drivers at the head of this post. It saved me a lot of time. The 3.14.55 driver works for me on Slacko 6.3 with the Edimax 7811 nano-USB wifi dongle. As expected I needed to blacklist the default RTL8192cu driver. All is well. Thanks again.

Debian files in Slacko Puppy
Hi, this is feedback rather than a bug report. I like Slacko 6.3 a lot. I use the 32-bit version in a frugal installation. I needed a printer driver for a recent Brother printer (HL-3140CW, though that isn't very relevant). There was no driver in CUPS and no PPD file, nor could I find any driver com...

Easy install, no problems
Just installed the 32-bit version as a frugal install on 6 year old ex-office desktop PC. I mounted the .iso file, copied the files to a new folder, edited GRUB's menu.lst and rebooted. Installed in less than ten minutes start to finish and first impressions are that everything works out of the box....

Hello, just posting to say thankyou to rscrn51 for maintaining this thread and the driver PET for so long. I'm on an occasional visit to my mother's (a long drive) and she has an old PC on which I installed Puppy 5.2.8 a long time ago, because it wouldn't run anything much else. Today I took her a n...

I always mount the shares using YASSM. YASSM has its own shutdown script /etc/init.d/rc.yassm. I checked and it's working. What kind of Puppy install do you have? What kind of shares are mounted? In what filesystems are they located? What are the names of the shares that are not being unmounted? Ye...

Shtudown hangs if Samba share mounted (rc.shutdown script)
Sorry to say, an old problem seems to have been reintroduced in recent Puppies (not just tahrpup). The shutdown script hangs for about 5 mins if there is a Samba share mounted at the time. The current version of /etc/rc.d/rc.shutdown has as the latest change, "#130217 01micko: relocate umount o...

Re: How to stop filesystem checks on every boot
I can only think that there is something in your closedown procedure that is leaving the disk in a state where the boot sequence thinks that fsck is needed - but no idea what that could be! Thanks again, peebee. That was the clue I needed. The problem was caused in shutdown, and I should have reali...

How to stop filesystem checks on every boot
My LXPUP installation (frugal install on an internal IDE HDD) insists on doing a filesystem check on the lxtahr sfs file and on my .4fs save file at every boot. This doubles boot time and I would like to switch the checks off, only doing the check occasionally. I know this behaviour used to be contr...

Add programs to launch bar
One small oddity in lxpup; when bringing up commands using the start button, right-clicking gives the options 'Add to desktop' and 'Add to launch bar'. Both work but icons added to the launch bar are not saved to the next session, whilst items saved to desktop are. It would be useful to be able to a...

Re: LxPupTahr 14.09
LxPupTahr 14.09 is now available from SF.net. Just to add that I have installed LxPupTahr-14.09 too. Very easy frugal install to folder and so far all seems rock solid. 'Quickpet tahr' is nice to see and it downloaded and installed the big LibreOffice SFS at the first attempt, very satisfactory. No...

Re: LxPup fix pet
Here is a small fix pet to tackle the problems simes has identified with mime associations. Do not load this pet if you have already made changes to mime associations - either by using Open-With or by loading the Right-Clicks option. The pet adds the associations for evince and zathura to open pdf ...
